A newGenshin Impactleak reveals that the Pyro user Hu Tao might finally get a re-run in one of the upcoming updates. Developer HoYoverse has introduced a pattern of placing two or three banner re-runs in the same update.
Even the incredibly famous Dendro Archon Nahida is paired with a re-run featuring the Pyro bow user Yoimiya.Genshin Impact’s Banner re-runs allow players to acquire older characters they might have missed in the past. Some characters like Kaedehara Kazuha and Kamisato Ayaka did much better on their second banner appearance, at least when it comes to their sales overall sales.

A credibleGenshin Impactleaker named Uncle Lu has apparently revealed that the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor will get a re-run. She currently holds the record for having the highest number of skipped banners out of all the five-star characters on the roster. Considering the fact that she is rumored for 3.4, it’s safe to say that Hu Tao won’t be a part of the upcomingGenshin Impactupdate 3.3meaning that she will go ten consecutive updates without a banner appearance. Since her release, Hu Tao has always been considered an S-tier character with great Pyro application.
She has a unique playstyle that requires players to learn a popular animation cancel technique on her Charged Attack which is Hu Tao’s primary source of damage. According to HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, players can expectGenshin Impactversion 3.4 to arrive around mid-January next year. Some fans speculate that Hu Tao could arrive on the second banner phase considering that the first part ofthe update will revolve around the Lantern Rite Festivalwhich is an annual event celebrating the Chinese New Year.
The main reason behind this is the fact that mentioning anything related to death during this holiday is considered taboo in Chinese culture andHu Tao’s character is heavily associated with this theme. This was also proven by the fact that during her first release back in 1.3, developer HoYoverse put Hu Tao on a third banner to avoid featuring her on a banner within the 15-day festival.
Previous leaks have confirmed that version3.4 will apparently introduce a new character named Alhaithamwho plays an important story in the current Sumeru arc. He is confirmed to be a Dendro character and players expect him to be the second DPS character to use this element after Tighnari.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
