AGenshin Impactplayer’s helpful video looks to aid other Travelers in finding a pair of easily missable chests in the mountainous Dragonspine region. Since the debut of the massively popular HoYoverse RPG in late 2020,exploration of the world of Teyvathas been one of the main draws of the game for many fans. The RPG features a large open world filled with secrets to uncover and treasure hidden across the world in caves and locked behind puzzles. One of the game’s earliest regions, Dragonspine, features a number of secrets to uncover.
Dragonspine served as the first expansion toGenshin Impact’s map following its September 2020 launch as a large mountain just south of Mondstadt. The region features frigid cold temperatures utilizing the game’s “Warmth” mechanic and several icy caves to explore with plenty of hidden puzzles and chests. The snowy peaks of Dragonspine have also been featured within story content, both with its launch in Version 1.2 and in later patches. However, even more than two years after its release, some of the mountain’s secrets are still easily missed by players.

A video posted by Reddit user RedCode1001 shows off two chests tucked away within theupper reaches of Dragonspine. The chests are situated on a precarious ledge located not far from the warp point for Dragonspine’s Peak of Vidnagnyr domain. A pair of Common Chests can be found after entering the Skyfrost Nail region before dropping into one of Dragonspine’s cave systems, hanging from the decaying structures and stone walls near the entrance. The post does note that many players miss the Chests as they are not required to achieve 100% exploration in Dragonspine.
Many of the post’s comments lament one of the playerbase’s largest frustrations when exploring the mountain region.Genshin Impact’s Anemo Treasure Compass gadget, used for tracking down unclaimed chests in Mondstadt, notably does not work within the snowy Dragonspine. The lack of functionality comes as other regions like Inazuma and Sumeru have continually expanded their map while the corresponding region’s Compass continues to function. Liyue’s Geo Treasure Compass can even be used in both the overworld andunderground areas of The Chasm.
Fans ofGenshin Impact’s exploration will have plenty to look forward to throughout the upcoming updates for the RPG. Version 3.6 recently introduced thefinal new area of the Sumeru region’s desert, adding a new weekly boss and a new world boss. Rumors have also swirled about the inclusion of a new limited-time area with Version 3.8 later this year, as well as the expected launch of Fontaine this summer. The world of Teyvat is set to grow substantially throughout the rest of 2023 with a variety of new areas to explore.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
