EachGenshin Impactupdate introduces at least one new character to the playable roster with Kuki Shinobu being the most recent addition. The upcomingGenshin Impactupdate 2.8 will bring the long-awaited four-star character from Inazuma, Shikanoin Heizou.
Heizou will apparently be the last character addition before the new major update which will introduce a brand new major region named Sumeru. A recentGenshin Impactvideo has revealed more information about this unique Anemo Catalyst user.

The officialGenshin ImpactYouTube channel has revealed the character demo forthe new character Shikanoin Heizou. Multiple NPCs in the game have already revealed that he is a famous detective from Inazuma who uses his smarts to outwit criminals at every single turn. When it comes to his rarity, he is officially confirmed to be a four-star character which means that players can level up his constellations much easier. The unique thing about his character is the fact that he will beGenshin Impact’s first male Catalyst user.
Shikanoin Heizou will be a four-star DPS character which is very unusual for Anemo characters. According to the recent live stream event, his whole kit revolves aroundHeizou’s elemental skill called Heartstopper Strike. Even though it seems like a simple skill that deals Anemo damage, there is also a small mechanic named Declension which allows Heizou to deal bonus damage with this skill and increase its area of effect.
While the Catalyst is usually a ranged weapon, the live stream has revealed that Heizou actually prefers close combat. Unfortunately, considering that he is a four-star character, players don’t expect big damage numbers on his Normal Attacks. There will most likely be two main ways of building this new Anemo DPS character. The first one is thestandardGenshin ImpactDPS buildin which players focus on gathering as much Crit Rate and Damage as possible in order to get high damage numbers on his skill and burst.
The second build path for Heizou’s DPS role includes getting high Elemental Mastery numbers so that he can produce a lot of damage through his elemental reactions which can be triggered easily since he’s a Catalyst user. When it comes to his release date, Heizou is expected to arrive with the first banner for update 2.8 which should drop on July 13. He will be part of the double banner which will include the fan-favorite Pyro DPS Klee and thelong-awaited Anemo support Kaedehara Kazuha.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
