As of Version 2.4, the creature serves no purpose except for collection and decoration, but players can expect this to change in the future.Before the Traveler descended to Enkanomiya, Rays were thought to be a fantastical creature, where people come aware of its existence via some ancient scrolls of art. Now, as the portal to Enkanomiya is open, the legendary animal can be seen by everyone.

Where To Find Rays In Genshin Impact
As Rays are a new species of fish released along with Enkanomiya, it’s unsurprising that this animal can be caught in the underwater region. Around the few newfishing spots availablein the area, players can find Rays in three places. One in The Serpent’s Bowel, and two in The Serpent’s Heart.
There are three types of Rays:Divda Ray,Formalo Ray, andFloating Ray. The first two are capturable, while the third one isn’t. The Divda Ray and Formalo Ray can both be found in the three aforementioned fishing points. This makes sense, as these Rays are actually the same animal. When they are young, the animal is called Divda Ray, where their skin is as gold as sunlight. Eventually, these creatures will grow and change color to a deep purple. The grown Divda Ray will then be called Formalo Ray. On the other hand, the Floating Ray is a special entity that can be found floating in the open-world. If players glide near this animal, it will grant some Energy particles.
As always, if players wish to display some Rays in their Serenitea Pot, then they have to catch theOrnamentalversion of the creature. These types are harder to catch, and can easily be distinguished as they’d jump out of the water periodically. Other than that,if the fishing point contains Ornamental fish, a beam of light can be seen above the pool. This special kind is also rarer than the normal versions. Therefore, players may want to check all three spots that contain these Rays.
Ray Fishing Spot In The Serpent’s Bowel
The first fishing spot is the exact place players fall in whenthey first enter Enkanomiya inGenshin Impact. To access it, simplyuse the Teleport Waypoint on the northwest of Enkanomiya, then walk a little south until there’s a small cave with some Sango Pearl clams around it. The fishing spot is in the middle of the grotto.
Ray Fishing Spots In The Serpent’s Heart
Meanwhile, the other two angling points are available in The Serpent’s Heart. However, it’s not as easy to access as the first spot. To find these places, players have togo a little below until theyfind another small cave.Be careful, though, make sure to keep an eye for the entrance. Falling for too long will eventually cause players to respawn. When this happens, the party will lose some HP, and their Elemental Burst will be emptied.
