Ghost Watcherswas released to minimal fanfare but began to make some noise as the day progressed. The multiplayer co-opghost-catching horror gamecan be played solo or with a gang and features voice interactions to spice up the experience. The game, however, has itsown way of dealing with the horror elements. The idea to combine the stereotypical know-hows of the usual exorcisms with the ‘hunt and catch’ mechanics was a jackpot. But the game isn’t pretty forward, though.

Players would need to spend some time in the horrid locations (alone or with a gang) to seek the mysterious histories that it carries. Although players don’t havePokedexdata to fill up, the game stands and shines on its own with realistic experiences and sound designs that can spook even a horror fan(at least for the first time). Catching a ghost is tedious and requires utmost patience, but it is a time well-spent!
How To Identity The Location Of The Ghost
The first step would be to find the exact hiding spot of the spirits. Unfortunately, the maps in the game can be pretty vast, and it would take some exploring to identify the ghost’s hiding spot. Luckily the game provides enough tools that help with it.
EMF:Electromagnetic Frequencies are the best bet in this case. Walking around equipped with it can indicate signs of EMF activity. Once the readings start to ramp up, it is just a matter of “Colder and Warmer” games until the readings are off the charts.

Thermometer:The digital thermometer is another reliable tool to identify the spirits hiding spot. Abnormal temperature readings well below the average ambient temperature can indicate signs of a ghost nearby. Again, players can use the EMF to double-check if needed.
Particle Sensor:Scans for particle counter, but the player should be in close proximity with the spirits.

Radio: Can be carried around or kept down on the floor to hear any signs of static, or sometimes even the crying or wailing of the spirits. This would work for spirits who move around often. This is an equivalent of a mine that can help identify the last seen location (upon losing its trial).
UV Light:Pointing a UV light on the floor/ground can reveal footprints of spirits and can help track the ghost to its new location. This would be highly useful to track down spirits without the EMF or Particle Sensors.

Ouija Board:Probably the last ranked tool for it. The Ouija board doesn’t help locate spirits but can eventually lead one to the spot. One should be prepared to defend as the spirits answering are usually annoyed and out for a kill.
Voodoo Doll:Usually works well with the Ouija board. Having it placed beside the Ouija board can have the doll move sideways. This can help the players get prepared for what follows.
Getting Prepared
The second step is more about preparations. Hunting down a dormant spirit tends to annoy them, and they would be coming for blood. On the funny side, it’s more like the player running into a high-level Pokemon in the tall grass and having no possibility of running away. It is wise to think a little forward to this step and equip oneself with all the necessary tools to counteract and weaken the spirits. The game provides enough tools, ranging from essential to absolute anti-demonic contraptions. They have their own uses, and it is up to the player to use them wisely.
Before going to the next step, the players must wait for the right timing. The Spirits/ghosts would eventually go for the kill, and each has its own “killing animations.” The players must look for the beginning signs and use these tools wisely. A little miss here and there could end in a game over.

Throwables:Players can throw Holy Saly, Fire Salt, Salt, Silver Bomb, Golden Bomb, Holy Water, or Holy Fire to weaken the spirits. Again, as mentioned earlier, it must meet with perfect timing.
Life-Saving Holders:Players can equip the Cross, Christ, or the three stick Incense to protect themselves from these spirits' wrath.
Droppables:Plasma Absorber and Withering Lights are the last options. Dropping them to the floor and staying within their reach would protect the player from a kill.
The penultimate step would be to irritate the weakened ghosts even more. The game would suggest any of the below following (depending on the situation and location) to make the spirits come out all guns blazing at the player.
Turn on ‘n’ taps/ Turn off ‘n’ taps | Turn on ‘n’ lights/Turn off ‘n’ lights. Upon completing the task, the player must move the cursed doll from its original location to a different room. This would remove the spirit from hiding and hurl itself at the player.
Catching The Ghost
Step 4:As the ghost is visible to the naked eye, players must run towards the wandering spirit and throw the ghost-catching ball. To think of it,the tall grass reference in a few paras above does beging to make better sense. Once the ghost is caught, the player must take possession of the ball to end the game.
