There’s something supernaturally strange in the neighborhood, but the Busters inGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashedhave got the gadgets to vanquish all kinds of ghostly entities. InGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, players can access a maximum of 4 secondary gadgets in addition to the widely recognized primary gear like the Proton Pack and P.K.E. meter, but the choice of gadgets available relies on players unlocking them.

When it comes to secondary gadgets, players automatically start equipped with the V.A.D which functions like a grappling hook but unlike primary gear, they can’t be upgraded. Despite this, as the ghosts get tougher in parallel to players leveling up, secondary gadgets can be crucial totrap trickier ghouls. However, some are undeniably more valuable and better than others.

V.A.D.

In video games, often nothing quite beats the feeling of zooming about the map to make a dramatic entrance or quick escape using a grappling hook, which is essentially what the V.A.D. is. Players only need to press RB on an Xbox controller to gain fast access to upper map levels, especially as all spooks have the significant advantage of flight andphasing for a speedy getaway.

However, players can only hook the V.A.D. to green icons of stairway rails, so players don’t have free reign to hook anywhere they like as much asJames Bondmight with his watch andrange of unusual gadgets. Players must be close to a grappling icon to use it.

Radar Pack

The Radar Pack is unlocked when players reach level 20, and it’s sometimes a handy ghost-detection kit to have around in addition to the P.K.E. meter. Players must press RB on an Xbox controller to deploy the device that emits a pulsing green light that detects ghosts and ghost rifts, so it’s a handy addition for players stuck searching.

However, the Radar Pack’s radius is limited, and when deployed the battery drains until its light turns red, so players must continually retrieve it to recharge it before redeploying. However, when playersblast ghosts with their P.K.E.meter leaving it on cooldown, it’s a handy backup.

Ionizer Pods

Ionizer Pods can be invaluable when it comes to catching stronger and faster ghosts inGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. When used right, they significantly slow down fast ghost movement speed, such as theevasive Gloom ghost, making it the perfect time to throw and open a ghost trap. When thrown by pressing RB, they explode and release a yellow gas that slows the ghosts, but players must throw them close to the target.

Although players are limited to carrying 3 Pods, they can resupply at the Gear Cart. They also stick to any surface as good as Bond’s sticky grenades inThe World is Not Enoughvideo game orproximity mines inGoldeneye.

Ecto Goggles

Ecto Goggles are the best and most stylish way to catch ghosts inGhostbusters: Spirits Unleashedand are technically unlocked when players reach level 50, but some players might find they can glitch into use sooner.

Looking similar to the equally iconic green goggles worn bySam Fisher inSplinter Cell, Ecto Goggles similarly turn the player’s vision into green night vision mode. They make the top of the list as a serious game changer, letting players see ghosts and rifts hiding in objects through walls from large distances, plus ghost portals. They also don’t drain any battery life with no need to re-supply. However, if slimed, they get knocked off, but players only need to press RB to re-equip them.
