When Codemasters revealedGRID Legendsearlier this year at EA Play, it set expectations for its next entry in the series high with the promises of new environments, new cars, story elements, and more. Today,Codemastershas revealed its first look atGRID Legendsand what players can expect in this ambitious new title.
The 17-minute gameplay video features a mix of traditional and electric hypercars, the first reveal of Elimination Mode with the Renault Clios, and Multi-Class between a big rig and Volkswagen Fun Cup cars racing through European countryside villages and cityscape circuits. The beginning of the gameplay reveal features a field of Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept Hypercars screaming through the winding Italian circuit of Strada Alpina.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept Hypercar is one of40 cars in varying car classesthat were revealed on theGRID Legendswebsite after the gameplay video went live. Chris Groves from the game’s Social and Community Team also revealed thatGRID Legendswill release on July 03, 2025. Pre-orders are now live and the pre-order bonuses feature early access to additional cars and faster car upgrade rewards among other incentives.
The gameplay shows off a variety of environments that players can expect to navigate through. London’s penchant for consistently rainy weather offers a difficult challenge of balancing speed and car control, not only for the players but for the AI.GRID LegendsCreative Director Chris Smith revealed in Electric Boost gameplay that AI will be just as prone to making mistakes and each AI driver will have differing “driver personalities” which will add unpredictable excitement to each race. The snowy, cobblestone streets of Moscow were used to show off the Elimination game mode with a field of Renault Clio Cups cars. The snow is a completely new environment type to theGRIDseries and the Moscow track represents the longest city trackin theGRIDfranchise.
The last bit of the reveal video talks about the game’smultiplayer aspect and the Race Creatorwhere fans will have free reign to create whatever race they like and share it with theGRID Legendscommunity. They can also pick from races made by other players for online and offline play or opt to randomize all of the game’s various race rules into one race. With race fields expanded from 16 to 22 cars, races are bound to be both fun and chaotic.
Codemasters is cranking the excitement forGRID Legendsas its first game mostlydeveloped under the EA banner. With 40 cars already confirmed with more to follow in the lead-up to release and the promise of more post-launch,GRID Legendsis set to be the most ambitious Codemasters racing game yet.
