Should Peter Double Down Or Lie?
At the beginning ofChapter 2: Busted, Peter will have to make a choice called “Double Down or Lie.” This particular choice doesn’t carry much weight in terms of the story, but it leads on to the next choice called “Hide the Tech or the Creature,” which is more important to theGuardians of the Galaxy’sstory.
The Double Down Choice
Under questioning from the authorities, Peter will attempt to use his experience with them and apologize for his actions. He admits to leaving the quarantined zone but decides to hide the fact that they returned back to the Milano with any scavenged loot. Unfortunately for Peter,Drax the Destroyerwill walk into eyeshot carrying a box full of scavenged and illegal Tech for the ship.
Choosing The Lie Option
Choosing the Lie option will mean that Peter will unconvincingly tell the officer that the team accidentally ended up in the quarantined zone thanks to navigation malfunction. Unfortunately for Star-Lord and the team, Drax will walk into view with a box full of illegal Tech.
As one can see, it doesn’t matter which choice the player makes at this point in the game, but it leads directly into a more impactful choice in the game.
Hide The Creature Or The Tech
This choice-based aspect of the story is more important because it impacts Gomora and Rocket’s interactionsearly inGuardians of the Galaxy.
Hide The Creature
Choosing toHide the Creatureinstead of the Tech will mean that Peter will instruct Drax to hide the Llama from the authorities. This naturally means that Rocket is disappointed in Peter’s choice. As a result, Peter tries to appease Rocket by telling him that he’ll be able to convince the captain to overlook scavenged Tech. This option will result in a fine for 7000 units, but the team will get to keep the Llama. The Llama will act as a pet on the ship but whether the strange creature is one ofthe many Easter Eggsto be found for the expanding universe, remains to be seen.
Hide The Tech
Choosing toHide the Techwill mean that the Guardians endure a bigger fine of 8000 units. This choice also will also displease Gomora as she wanted to keep the Llama. This choice will lead to the Milano getting lock-on rockets to escape the Queen’s mercenaries.
