A player has managed to find a mysterious new Easter egg added to an older map in Season 3 ofHalo Infinite. The secret will leaveHalo Infiniteplayers guessing what 343 Industries has planned for the next few months.

Season 3 ofHalo Infinitehas finally been released, and the early impressions seem to be positive among the community. The new weapon, the Bandit, feels great to use, and the new maps have received plenty of initial praise. It remains to be seen if Season 3 is actually a step forward for the game or if it’s simply a honeymoon period with plenty of fresh content. Season 3 is only just beginning. A recentHalo Infiniteleak revealed that Forge World could be returningin Season 3, a move that would massively increase the potential of the already-powerful Forge mode. Combined with the custom game browser, a return of Forge World could spark a resurgence in popularity forHalo Infinite’s custom games.

The Easter egg appeared to have been added to the older map Live Fire and was posted to Reddit by user North117. In the clip, the player approaches a locked door where from the inside, a series of mysterious noises can be heard. Anearly leak ofHalo Infinite’s Season 3revealed that the classic Infection mode would be central to the content and story of this season. Early theories about the noises suggest that they’re related to the Infection mode, with them clearly sounding zombie-esque. The eventual purpose of the noises will only be revealed as Season 3’s narrative event unfolds over the course of the next few months.

Considering just how new Season 3 is toHalo Infinite, it’s surprising that this secret has been found so quickly. It’s possible that 343 Industries has also placed Easter eggs relating to the narrative event in some of the other maps, with players yet to discover much else. TheHaloseries has always been known for its Easter eggs, and it’s good to see 343 Industries carrying on the tradition that Bungie started over two decades ago.

Mysteries like this could be enough to show players thatHalo Infiniteis worth returning to for Season 3. It hasn’t been an easy ride for the game, which launched missing manyHalostaple features. It doesn’t have everything it needs yet, with a recent update providing clarity onHalo Infinite’s future career progression system, but at least for the first time in a while, it looks like it’s headed in the right direction.
