Dragon Ball Z: Kakarothas been a huge success among fans ofDragon Ball Z, with its faithful recreations of the beloved story and memorable scenes, but the game has not shied away from includingoriginal content like Bonyuand other sub-stories. For the most part, these sub-stories can be found in a list in the story section of the main menu, but there are some mini adventures players can go on that aren’t listed here. These usually are found by talking to certain NPCs on the map and listening closely to what they say, and sometimes, fulfilling the requests or needs of these NPCs even results in rewards.
For those that are unaware,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis structured into three main types of activities: main-stories, sub-stories, and turtle school training challenges. All of these, even the ones not yet completed, can be viewed in the story section of the main menu. Aside from this, though, there are some small stories which don’t quite constitute being full sub-stories or have unique rewards which can be found throughout the world ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and many of these have yet to be found, documented, or solved. It is very interesting that CyberConnect2 decided to hide these things in its already very full game.

Robot Repair in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
Not long afterDragon Ball Z: Kakarotreleased, many fans noted that a particularCapsule Corp employee looks like Professor Oakfrom thePokemonfranchise. This character can be found right outside Capsule Corp in West City, and if talked to, he will tell the player about his penchant for fixing robots. He then tells the player that if they come across any robots that need to be fixed to let him know. In most games, this would seem like an offhand comment which doesn’t lead to much, but the player can actually find this broken robot.
Off the southern coast of Lacco Village in the Southeast Islands Area, there is an island with a small house on it. An old man sits next to askull-roboand explains that he has been talking with and spending time with it, but suspects it is broken. After talking to him, if the player returns to the Capsule Corp employee, he will ask for a list of materials and reward the player with a Robo-Repair Kit. The fixes the broken robot, and some cute dialogue follows along with a reward for the player.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Famous Potter
Just outside Satan City in the Southeast Mountains Area, across the road from thetime attack challenge for thisDBZ: Kakarotlocation, there is a house with four pots sitting outside of it. The NPC, called “Famous Potter,” has a speech bubble which can be seen from quite far, so finding him shouldn’t be a problem. He complains that he isn’t capable of making anything of value and that his masterpiece is now buried in all of this junk. Be careful, though, as if the player follows their first instinct and breaks all the pots, the Famous Potter will lament that they’ve destroyed their prized creation as well.
It is unclear as of yet how one can distinguish between the three bad pots and the masterpiece, but even if the player simply guesses correctly, destroying three of the four pots, the Famous Potter will reward the player with some items. While this hidden sidequest is even shorter than the previous one, it is still a unique bit of gameplay which, although it wasn’t necessary, is nice touch from the developers. Littlehidden sidequestslike this are likely all over the world ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, waiting to be discovered.

More Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Sidequests?
There is a small island northwest of theWorld TournamentArena with two NPCs on it, a man and a woman. Investigating further, it becomes clear that the man is attempting to propose to his girlfriend, but he has lost the ring. Again, this wouldn’t seem like much, but he starts the dialogue by saying he’d like to ask the player for a favor before telling them that he lost the ring to a strong gust of wind and dropped it somewhere in the sand. There are many possible ways that this could turn into a small quest with a reward, but the ring has proven difficult to find so far.
The NPC, called the “Deserted Island Camper,” gives two hints as to the location of the missing ring. He says that he lost it in sand, but blasting the island with ki blasts yields nothing but iron, silver, and gold. He also says that a strong gust of wind knocked it out of his hand. Notably, there are two wind tunnels near the island which could be what the Deserted Island Camper was referring to. The standard, green wind tunnel begins off the island but ends on it, and a temporary, golden wind tunnel sometimes appears on the island leading away from it. This tunnel does end in an item, but it is not the ring. Players wonderingwhat to do after beatingDragon Ball Z: Kakarotcould try and solve this little mystery.
It is very likely that there are other little sidequests like this hidden in the game. Some of them may have been discovered already, but not thought of as much besides a way to get some quick healing items, while others may have gone completely under the radar. Either way, it seems that much of the information surrounding these encounters is completely absent from Reddit, YouTube, and the internet in general.
This is actually quite exciting, though. It means fans have a chance to take part in finding and documenting every secret thatDragon Ball Z: Kakarothas to offer, and untilmysteriousDBZ: Kakarotseason pass detailsare announced, they should have plenty of time to do just that. While to some these “sidequests” may seem like throwaway pieces of dialogue for throwaway rewards, they truly exhibit the care put into making the world ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfeel alive and immersive and play a small role in makingDragon Ball Z: Kakarotthe great game that it is.
