The player can speak with Robbie to start the side adventure"Hateno Village Research Lab.“Robbie requests Link’s presence at his research lab, located in Hateno Village, to receive significant upgrades forTOTK’s Purah Pad, including the highly beneficial Shrine Sensor.
The entrance toHateno Villageis found atcoordinates (3281, 2142, 0102),far north of Ebon Mountain in the East Necluda region. To reach Hateno Village, the nearest shrine isZanmik Shrine, or players can fast travel to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower or Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower. Gliding directly south from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower is the easiest route, but the player should remember to bring appropriateprotection from the cold weather.

Upon arriving at theHateno Ancient Tech Lab, located on top of the hill in Hateno Village atcoordinates (3779, -2111, 0250), the player should enter and speak with Robbie. Robbie will upgrade the Purah Pad to now offer theSensorability which tracks nearby, undiscovered Shrines of Light. He asks Link to first test the sensor in an incredibly simple yet strangely annoying task.
To properly test the Shrine Sensor, turn around from where Robbie is standing and slowly walk toward the cluttered desk on the wall near the alcove with bookshelves, so the door is on the far right and the alcove is immediately left. The player must walk, not run, and the shrine sensor’s beeping will indicate the proper direction. Once the player reaches the desk, Robbie will inform Link that it must be leading to a shrine outside.
