Though theGrand Theft Autofranchise is still one of the biggest money-makers in the entire gaming industry,Grand Theft Auto 5is still the latest game in the series that Rockstar has put out. Originally launched back in 2013 as a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title,GTA 5still has a burgeoning online component that gets updates and content on a regular basis, but it goes without saying that fans are eager for a proper sequel.

Of course, the fact that Rockstar does have a properGTA 5sequel in production is well known by this point, but there’s no real information available about the mysterious title in any way, shape, or form. Fans ofGrand Theft Autolike Reddit user F1ash8ang are left to their own devices when it comes to entertaining themselves without going intoGTA 5’s multiplayer component. In this particular case, F1ash8ang came up with an interesting idea.

While the newGTA 5Expanded & Enhanced versionfor latest-gen consoles did upgrade the game for new hardware, its main draw is the game’s online mode, and its single-player functionality didn’t get much in the way of new content. F1ash8ang chose to take his commemoration of theGrand Theft Autofranchise in a different direction, and they did so by hooking up five different generations of the PlayStation console to run different versions ofGTA, fromGrand Theft Auto 2all the way to the series' latest rendition.

F1ash8ang even went on to say that they’ve got PlayStation Portable and Vita consoles with their own respective versions ofGrand Theft Autoready to go, underlining their status as aGTAsuper-fan even further. ThoughGTA 5got substantially upgraded for next genre-releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms, the fact that there’s been no newGTAfor close to a decade now isn’t going unnoticed by the community.

By focusing on deliveringmassive content updates forGTA Onlineover the years, Rockstar ended up leaning heavily towards its multiplayer community, and all the while fans of the franchise’s classic single-player offerings didn’t get much to look forward to. Naturally,Grand Theft Auto 6is bound to resolve this issue once it releases, but Rockstar is yet to highlight the game in any meaningful capacity.

In the meantime, franchise fans such as F1ash8ang cancompare and contrastGTA 5withGTA 4, as well as some of the series' earlier offerings to see how the franchise has evolved over the years. There’s no telling how far Rockstar will go withGTA 6once it finally gets announced, but looking back at Rockstar’s previous output may give fans an idea or two of what might happen next.

Grand Theft Auto 5is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
