An impressiveTekken 7mod has addedF-Zero’s Captain Falcon to the playable roster, using moves and attacks from hisSuper Smash Bros.incarnation. The seventh mainlineTekkenentry has had an active modding community ever since it was released, with fans expanding its roster with a number of unexpected additions. There are the standard fighters from various fighting and action game franchises, such as Goro Majima and Kazuma Kiryu from theLike a Dragonseries, or even wild choices likeAshley Graham from theResident Evil 4remake. Another wild but still appropriate choice was Captain Falcon ofF-ZeroandSuper Smash Bros.fame.

F-Zerois strictly a racing franchise, and it isn’t the first thing fans think of when adapting its gameplay mechanics into a fighting game. Despite that, Captain Falcon has been present in every singleSuper Smash Bros.game to date, bringing his unique martial arts and techniques that carry the spirit of his franchise. Due to theF-Zerofranchise’s dormancy, it’s more likely fans will recognize Captain Falcon as a character in the fighting game rather than a representative of his series. That said, Captain Falcon remains an iconic member of the roster, so much so that one fan adapted his trademark offense fromSuper Smash Bros.intoTekken 7.

This mod was showcased in a video by UMIN, with the moveset being created by Mr Fletch, according to the video description. This mod apparently replacesNoctis' moveset inTekken 7, another guest character hailing fromFinal Fantasy 15. Captain Falcon’s moveset in this mod includes his iconic Falcon Punch, complete with windup time and devastating blow. The video also showcases the Captain’s speedy offense, where he can move into performing a combo using moves that are seen fromSuper Smash Bros., including the “Knee of Justice” aerial finisher as fans call it.

The moveset shows off how different the Captain’s moves are when they are adapted fromSuper Smash Bros.toTekken, such as his Falcon Kick being a lightning-fast move that can both attack his opponent and bring them to the other side of the stage without worry, due toTekken’s 3D arena setup. He also uses some more attacks that seem to be stemmed from otherfighters inTekken 7, such as his uppercut and rapid jabs. Despite the slight differences, the mod translates Captain Falcon into the game’s fighting system incredibly well.

UMIN is a prominent modder ofTekken 7, where they have created a variety of mods for the game. This includes backporting Jin’s outfit fromTekken 8to this game, addingSoul Calibur 6’s Cassandra, and even Isaac Clarke from theDead Spaceseries. Fans can try out theF-Zeroracer inTekken 7via a download in the video’s description.
