InIXION, players are tasked with the survival of a space station after a catastrophic malfunction to the Vhole jump engine renders it damaged. This engine was supposed to transport people at faster-than-light speeds to different worlds but fails spectacularly and dangerously. With no support from their original group on Earth, players must keep their crew alive at all costs. One of the many, many problems that players will face is how to replenish a depleted crew with no one who can be recruited from Earth. The answer lies within the stars.

Researching the Cryonics Center

InIXION, asimulation set on a station entirely in space, players will need significantly more crew members than they will start with in chapter one. Crew is a necessary resource for everything in the game, from running the various buildings that produce resources such as alloy, polymer, and food, manning the buildable spaceships that can scout and reclaim raw materials, and repairing the hull of the station. This makes crew the most important resource in the game, but they can be difficult to acquire.

In the early game, the best way to accomplish this is to research the cryonics center. Players should build and send research ships to any available planets they discover with a probe, as this will drastically speed up the research process. Once the cryonics center is researched, players will need 40 alloy and 3 electronics in storage to build the cryonics center, 5 power to run it, and 15 crew to man it.

Like most complex city builders, Players will also need to build a stockpile to store this resource and set it to store cryonic pods that can be turned into additional crew. Not all of these crew will be workers, but it is the best that can be done early game.

Finding Cryonic pods

In order to find cryonic pods, players will first need to use a probe to discover some in the system they are in. If players have not built a probe launcher, it can be found in the production section of the build menu after it has been researched. Players will also need 90 alloy to build it, 6 power to run it, and 9 crew to operate it.

After the probe launcher is constructed, players can spend 3 polymers to build a probe that can be sent into the star system to explore. When players are on the system map, the probe button will be found next to the Tiqqun button, and players will see a radar that can be used to look for resources in the system. Players should look for the icons on the probe screen that look like a science beaker and a little human surrounded in a blue outline. These little blue humans are the icon for cryonic pods and are tracked like resources like iron or silicon.

Awakening Crew

To awaken the crew from cryonic pods after the cryonic pods have been gathered, players should allow their cryogenic center to run. When powered and staffed by crew, this building will continuously thaw out the cryonic pods that players collect until players run out of pods or stop the cryogenic center manually.

Build Housing and Food

As with most survival games, players should be sure to understand how to construct sufficient housing and food production facilities to provide their newly thawed crew mates a place to live, or they will begin to bring down the stability of the sector, potentially causing widespread unhappiness and accidents.
