Wrestling star Jeff Hardy is pleading not guilty to his recent DUI charge after police caught him allegedly driving while intoxicated earlier in June. This is the latest development in the case, which saw theAEWwrestler shockingly arrested for several offences in Florida.

According to court documents,Hardy was arrested for felony DUI, misdemeanor violating restrictions placed on driver’s license, and misdemeanor driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked. Police footage from the arrest has also been released, further solidifying the case against him. The latter 2 charges stemmed from the later revelation that his license had been suspended following 2 previous arrests and DUI convictions. He’ll be due in court shortly for the hearing. The professional wrestler hasn’t offered any comment.

The aforementioned convictions took place in 2018 and 2019, respectively. 2018 saw Hardy arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his car and blowing over 3 times the legal blood alcohol limit on a breathalyzer. In 2019, he was arrested for the same charge, albeit without a crash. Both instancestook place in North Carolina. Even aside from all that, he served jail time in 2011 following a cocaine bust. So that sort of sentencing wouldn’t be a first for him if convicted.

Hardy was formerly signed with WWE on and off between the mid-90s all the way to 2021. Over the years, he earned plenty of clout both by himself and asa member of The Hardy Boyztag team with his brother Matt Hardy. The duo is widely regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of professional wrestling, with their legacy still lasting through a recent reunion after both brothers signed on to All-Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Aside from the charges, Hardy’s recent arrest has also resulted ina suspension from AEW. Owner Tony Khan added the stipulation that the wrestling veteran could return to the fold only if he successfully completed treatment and managed to maintain his sobriety. Unfortunately, a conviction in his upcoming court case would result in jail time, which may make things a bit more complicated on that front.

However things turn out, the odds appear stacked against Hardy. Between his previous convictions and the police footage, it seems that all signs likely point to a conviction and potential jail time. Long-time fans may be used to this sort of thing from him, but it’s still not particularly pleasant to see.
