Following in the footsteps of its predecessorPokemon Bank,Pokemon Homeprovides fans with the chance to take their favorite Pokemon from each game along with them in new adventures and regions. Since the cloud-based storage service launched in early 2020, fans have not only had an easy way to store and transfer all their favorite Pokemon from the franchise’s recent games, but also seen aplethora of unique Pokemon given awaythrough the service. However,Pokemon’s premiere transfer system still has yet to come to the newest entries in the series.The last year has seenPokemonrelease two major new entries between the long-awaited Gen 4 remakesPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearland the highly-anticipated re-imagining of the franchise inPokemon Legends: Arceus. With both of these games seeing plenty of success for the Pokemon Company, fans naturally looked toPokemon Homeas a way to bring over their favorites from Sinnoh and Hisui, but both games have yet to be added to the service. Though no release date was revealed in the post, CentroLeaks revealed thatPokemon Homewill natively recognizeLegends: Arceus' variety of exclusive Poke Ballsand the newest game in the franchise will be able to transfer in creatures not only from its fellow Switch games, but also Pokemon added fromPokemon GOassuming those Pokemon already exist withinLegends.

However, one point that drew the ire of many fans is what happens to Pokemon fromLegends: Arceuswhen transferred toSword and ShieldorBrilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. According to CentroLeaks, Pokemon transferred into the other games from theHisui region will have their moves replacedwith the standard moveset for whatever game they are arriving to, with Pokemon fromBrilliant Diamond and Shining Pearlseeing similar effects. No mention was made as to what would happen to the stat values of Pokemon transferred fromArceus, with the Hisui game allowing players to raise stats with “Grit” items.

While many fans of the franchise are itching to bring their Pokemon partners fromArceusover to its counterpart Switch games, another opportunity for trainers to bring their companions is looming on the horizon.Pokemon’s ninth generation is just around the corner withScarlet and Violetconfirmed to be releasinglater this year, giving fans another opportunity to travel, capture, and battle with both new Pokemon and old favorites.Pokemon Home’s integration withLegends: ArceusandBDSPwill give fans the opportunity to bring their trusted companions along for the new adventure.
