Robert Kirkman may be best known for creatingThe Walking Deadfranchise, but lately another Kirkman series has been in the limelight. Amazon’s adaptation of theInvinciblecomic book series has been a hit for the streaming service, creating a slew of new fans and countless memes, particularly when it comes to the intimidating andincredibly powerful Omni-Man, voiced by J.K. Simmons. Please note that this article will haveSPOILERSfor theInvincibleTV series, so those that have yet to watch the show should proceed with caution.

Omni-Man in theInvincibleTV seriesis presented as being what is essentially the show’s version of Superman. Omni-Man possesses incredible speed and strength, can fly, and appears to be the most powerful being on Earth. It’s clear after the first episode that Omni-Man isn’t nearly as benevolent as Superman is, however, as he brutally murders other superheroes and learning why he commits these atrocities is a key mystery in the series throughout its first season.

Omni-Man’s violent acts include crushing a person’s head with his hands, and using another superhero’s body to completely destroy a subway train, obliterating everyone inside it in the process. Omni-Man’s shocking brutality means he would fit right in the cast ofMortal Kombat 11, and it seems as thoughgame director Ed Boonagrees with that sentiment.

A fan recently tweeted some Omni-Man art to Boon on Twitter, with theMortal Kombat 11logo front and center. Boon responded to the artwork, saying “That could’ve worked!” Needless to say, Boon seems to agree that Omni-Man would’ve been a good option as aMortal Kombat 11guest fighter, though it’s safe to say that he would need to be nerfed quite significantly to make it a fair fight.

It seems as though NetherRealm is done releasingnewMortal Kombat 11DLC characters, so it seems as though Omni-Man will have to wait forMortal Kombat 12, if he’s ever added to theMortal Kombatroster at all. Some might think he would be a better fit for NetherRealm’sInjusticeseries, but the over-the-top violence required to portray Omni-Man properly wouldn’t mesh well withInjustice’s T for Teen rating.

While many have assumed thatInjustice 3will be NetherRealm’s next game or maybeMortal Kombat 12, there are rumors pointing to a different project entirely. While it hasn’t been confirmed, “leaks” have suggested thatNetherRealm is making a Marvel fighting game. Boon himself has teased that there have been discussions of some kind between NetherRealm and Marvel in the past, so perhaps these rumors will prove true. Fans will just have to wait to find out.

Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
