Even though the year 2022 has yet to come, it’s already clear that the audience can expect many great things from it. Especially if they like streaming new original series onNetflix. The streaming service keeps creating new fascinating content and it has many promising shows coming next year. Some of them already have a date set while others don’t, but unless things change, they all should premiere sometime in 2022.

Netflix will introduce both sequels to well-known works as well as new pieces that haven’t had any movie or TV adaptation before. As such, it can be expected that in 2022, people will be streamingNetflixjust as much as they did this year, if not more.
7Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
So far,Cyberpunk 2077isn’t such a major hit asThe Witcher(especially the third game), but just like Netflix’sThe Witcherdrew new people to the games, this series could do the same for its game predecessor.
The animated series will have ten episodes and focus on a poor young guy who decides to become an edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw. CD Projekt Red, the developer ofCyberpunk 2077, also stands behind the series, so it’s clear it should fit in with the game, expand the universe and also introduce it even to people who haven’t played the game.
6First Kill
Vampire stories are still a popular genre, partially because there are many ways how the creators can portray the bloodsucking creatures. In this case, the story will focus on two girls who should by all rules be enemies, but something else starts building between them instead.

A young vampire is looking for her first kill and picks up a vampire hunter but instead of fighting, they might fall for each other. Based on V.E. Schwab’s short story,First Killwill most likely mix emotions and action and give space to young heroes, which might attract viewers of the same age.
5In From The Cold
The recentBlack Widowmovie confirmed that stories about former Russian spies turned superheroes are a popular genre. The showIn From the Coldworks with a similar premise, except the main heroine Jenny has long since left her past behind. Or so she thought.
But when someone who has the same special powers starts going after innocent people, it’s up to Jenny to stop them. The series is due to premiere soon on Netflix, on the 28th of January, and will be an intriguing watch for all people who enjoy action superhero stories with female heroines.
4The Midnight Club
A lot of people love a good horror story, andThe Midnight Clubcould have more than one. Inspired by Christopher Pike’s work, the bookMidnight Clubfocuses on a group of young people who tell each other scary stories that might or might not become true in real life as well.
So far it’s unclear how closely theseries follows the books, but if it will walk in the footsteps ofFear Street, a horror also primarily focused on a younger audience,The Midnight Clubcould be a new horror hit.
3Resident Evil
The horror sci-fi seriesResident Evilis a highly popular brand and has been so for decades. Just likeCyberpunk: Edgerunners, it also started out as a computer game (games, in this case) and later moved to movies.

As one of the most successful novelists and comic book screenwriters of the 21st century, the adaptations of Neil Gaiman’s work always garner a lot of attention.The Sandmanis no exception.Based on a series of comics that belong among Gaiman’s finest work, the series will focus on Morpheus, the effect he has on people, and the mistakes he has previously made.
The Sandmancould very well replace the not-so-long-ago finishedAmerican Godsthat are also based on Gaiman’s work. A trailer has already come out for the series, so anyone interested can watch it to learn even more about the series' tone.
1The Witcher: Blood Origin
So far it’s unclear how much the prequel and sequel toThe Witcherwill be connected with its predecessor. It won’t bebased on Andrzej Sapkowski’s booksas much because Sapkowski primarily focuses on his present-day work.Blood Origin, on the other hand, will take place some 1,200 years before the events ofThe Witcher.
It will focus on the creation of the first Witcher ever and how the Conjunction of the Spheres happened, the event that brought monsters and other creatures into the world. Considering the time difference between the two shows, it’s almost guaranteed that no characters fromThe Witcherwill appear inBlood Origin, despite their longevity (so no Henry Cavill!).
