Evidence continues to mount of a forthcoming announcement regardingWarcraft 3 Reforged. The latest example comes from withinOverwatch, where four new animated sprays feature units fromWarcraft 3 Reforged.

The sprays in question are available to view in-game inOverwatch.Overwatchplayers simply have to select the “Special” options in order to see them. However, they’re otherwise inaccessible, meaning there’s likely a unique way to unlock theseWarcraft 3 Reforgedanimated sprays.

The four sprays are tied to the four different playable races inWarcraft 3. There’s a Night Elf archer unit spray, a Human footman spray, an Undead ghoul, and an Orc grunt. Each of the four sprays is animated to show the individual unit’s attack animation. The four sprays notably feature theWarcraft 3 Reforgedupdated versions of each unit. They’ve been remodeled forWarcraft 3 Reforged’s improved visual quality, though it’s unclear if they scale up to 4K given the low quality of the recorded footage.

How players will unlock these 4 animated sprays is the main question. The Reddit user who initially posted about the sprays on the social media site claims that they have purchased theWarcraft 3 Reforgeddeluxe Spoils of War Editionand that it did not unlock the sprays for them. The Spoils of War Edition doesn’t advertise that it includes anyOverwatchsprays, but it remained a distinct possibility. Possible alternatives include joining aWarcraft 3 Reforgedbeta or playing the game at launch.

Possible paths to acquire theseOverwatchsprays almost all insinuate that a forthcoming release ofWarcraft 3 Reforgedis nearing. It adds to the argument that’s already been established by a recent datamine showing what looks to be thein-game client for aWarcraft 3 Reforgedbeta. The beta client does not include campaign content, but does open up Versus mode and the game’s Replay system. Despite the all evidence, however, no official details about aWarcraft 3 Reforgedbeta or launch date have been announced.

With rumors swirling aboutWarcraft 3 Reforgedand a potential forthcoming launch, all eyes are turning toward BlizzCon 2019. BlizzCon 2019 starts on November 1st this year and by all accounts, it’s going to be a very big event. Blizzard itself hasn’t talked much about the event, but Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has commented on how Blizzard is planning “a lot of big announcements” to make up for frustrations with BlizzCon 2018. Of course, that might change givenBlizzard’s currently embroiled in a major controversy.Warcraft 3 Reforgednews, at the very least, appears to still be planned soon.
