Overwatch 2fans have a good idea of what’s set to come to the game in 2023.Overwatch 2’s PvE modeis confirmed to begin at some point this year, with content sure to be added regularly via the live service model. A new PvP mode is also confirmed, as are progression changes thanks to community feedback. Beyond these major additions, new Seasons will release, meaning more heroes are on the way alongside maps and battle passes.
Given the state of the Support role inOverwatch 2, Blizzard has confirmed that the next two characters coming to the hero shooter will be in this category, hoping that this will get more players interested in playing the role. Though no details have been provided about what these characters will be like, it would be cool to see another Omnic added to the game, and a female robot could help balance out the current lineup.

A Female Omnic Support Would Keep Overwatch 2’s Roster Varied
One of the most beloved aspects ofOverwatch 2is its diverse roster, as characters from all parts of the globe are featured. Additionally, Blizzard has allowed players to control animals like Winston and robots like Echo, helping to show how futuristic and unique the franchise’s world is. With Omnics set to become more important than ever thanks to the PvE campaign andRamattra’s uprising, adding more named ones to the mix only makes sense.
Currently, there are fiveplayable robots inOverwatch 2, with Bastion, Zenyatta, Ramattra, Echo, and Orisa making up the list. Not only would another female machine even out the lineup, as Zenyatta and Ramattra are male and Bastion has been referred to as a “he” by developers, but Echo and Orisa are not Omnics in the traditional sense. As more advanced machines, they are different from characters like Zenyatta and Ramattra, so a more traditional female Omnic would be fresh.

A female Omnic filling the Support role would also be fitting, as currently, there is a male Omnic in each role.Zenyattacan be found in the Support category, Ramattra serves as a Tank, and Bastion provides Damage. Further, Echo is a Damage character and Orisa is a Tank, leaving Support as the lone category without a female Omnic. Two Omnics in each role seems like a good balance to strive for, and it will give Blizzard more storytelling opportunities forOverwatch 2’s robot-centric narrative.
A Female Omnic Support Hero Could Be an Existing Character
If Blizzard wanted to introduce a new Omnic character, it has a few options. Though the Talon banker Maximilien, Tracer’s friend Iggy, and Nameless fromRamattra’s short storyall stand out, Zera is another option. A former ally of Ramattra that left his side alongside Nameless, Zera could offer a lot of interesting dialogue about Ramattra and the things he has done for his cause. She would also be a change of pace from the usual Support character due to her massive build.
An alternative would be Lanet, who was Ramattra’s number two before she supposedly died inOverwatch 2’s London uprising. Though Omnics are finite and cannot be rebuilt, perhaps she did not actually die in the first place, with Blizzard revealing that she lived at some point duringOverwatch 2’s campaign. Assuming that she survived, she could want to hunt down Ramattra for leaving her behind and becoming too extreme, taking on ananti-hero role like Soldier: 76. Though Blizzard could just as easily introduce an entirely new Omnic to the mix, going with one of Ramattra’s former allies could be a clever way to shed light on his uprising and what other Omnics think about it.
Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
