The entire chapter saw acountdownto the message, which essentially dropped towards the very end. The message itself was one that was quite short in itself, however, also had massive repercussions. Fans have not seen much of the reaction of the world to this message as of yet. However, just by hearing this announcement, everyone can tell that this is completely out of the ordinary. That said, to those paying close attention, Vegapunk’s message about the thinking of the world doesn’t seem to be all that surprising. In fact, the world of One Piece has already sunk once before.

In One Piece chapter 1113, fans finally got their answers after the incredibly long wait that came along with Vegapunk’s message. After being hit byAdmiral Kizaru’s laser, fans knew thatVegapunk would end up dying.Upon his death, apre-recorded messagewas triggered, and Vegapunk himself mentioned inOne Piecechapter 1113 that this message was set up in such a way that it would startonce his heart stopped beating. He knew that he did not have long left, and it is because of that he pre-recorded this message. Of course, the biggest obstacle for this message to come out was interference.
Vegapunk had predicted there would be interference, however, for thesmartest man in the entire world, fooling the people who would try to stop him was not much of an issue. Even though he had not predicted theFive Elders coming to Eggheadin an attempt to stop him, he predicted could still get the message out. That is precisely what happened, and the 10-minute time frame that he gave the entire world to set up their video transponder snails passed in the previous chapter. As that happened,Vegapunk’s message was finally dropped as well.

Much to the surprise of all the fans, Vegapunk started the message byadmitting his sin.He said that he had committed two grave sins. However, he did not go into specifics about those sins. Still, he himself mentioned that he is not there to discuss morality, but that, all in all, he wants to talk aboutwhat is coming next. Vegapunk shocked the entire world towards the end when he said that theworld ofOne Pieceis going to sink into the ocean. This was an incredible prediction that no one saw coming, and yet, fans knew that Oda would put such a twist in his story at some point.
Fans have not seen the reaction of the world to this message just yet, however, despite this message being bizarre, they know that the world will accept it for what it is, given that it is coming from the mouth of the smartest man in the entire world who is said to be 500 years ahead of humanity. Vegapunk’s message has set aprecedent for a great war to come, and things cannot be more exciting at this point in time.
How The World Of One Piece Sank

Vegapunk clearly mentioned that the world ofOne Pieceis going to sink. However, this is only a prediction from him. This prediction has to be based on something, and fans know thatVegapunk has studied the ancient past. In fact, that is likely one of thebiggest crimeshe has committed and possibly what he was referring to in his message at the beginning. This means that Vegapunk has studied things that have indicated the sinking of the world. In fact, Oda has littered clues all overOne Piecethat indicate that the sinking of the world is actually real and that ithappened long ago.
The first thing that the fans need to look at is theWater 7 Saga. This Saga is incredibly important when it comes to the sinking of the world. The very first arc in this saga is the Long Ring Long Land arc, and there, fans sawNomadsmigrating from one island to another, which Tonjit was a part of. This nomad mentioned that theyonly travel when the tide falls, which happens once every year, and when that happens, the real island shows itself, and they are able to cross from one island to another. This indicates that the world ofOne Piecehas actually flooded once, and what used to be a normal landmass before is now divided into many smaller Islands because of therising tides.

Going on, fans know that in the Water 7 Saga,Aqua Lagunawas mentioned for the very first time. Aqua Laguna was a terrifying storm that floodedWater Sevenevery year, and it was something that the people of the island had gotten used to. In fact, when getting to Water Seven, fans knew that the island was actuallybuilt at an elevation. However, below the island, there are still old residential places that people once used to live in. Clearly, this was a sign of Water 7 being on sea level at one point in time. At the same time, this was also a sign ofconstant rising water levelsand the eventual flooding of the island, which required people to get to elevation and build their homes there. In the same arc, it was mentioned that the water level consistently gets higher every year and that eventually, even the Water Seven that currently exists will submerge. This is one of the reasons why Iceberg wanted to build a floating Water 7 in the first place.
Clearly, all this indicates that the world ofOne Piecesank a long time ago. The question is, how did the water levels in theOne Pieceworld rise this much? The answer to that is thegreat war that happened 900 years ago. Whenthe Great War with the Ancient Kingdombegan, it is highly likely that the water levels were completely normal. However, theusage ofAncient Weapons, such asUranus, likely caused the world ofOne Pieceto change completely. There is a reason why ancient weapons are known to be tools that have the power to destroy the entire world.
Fans recently saw Lulusia beingwiped out using the Mother Flame, and when that happened, the entire world felt the earthquakes in the following days, and thewater level rose by 1 meter. That was just from a single shot. Now, when one imagines an entire war that lasts for 100 years raging on, with the usage of Ancient Weapons, then, one can see how the world got submerged completely. It is highly likelythat the Ancient Kingdomthat once existed is actually under the ocean right now. And, the many islands that the fans see in theOne Pieceworld, specifically the ones in the Grand Line, were possibly a giant piece of land once but were only divided into smaller islands due to the massive flooding.
It was because of this war that the world of One Piece was eventually flooded, and the creation of theOne Pieceworld as fans know it right now came to be. Hopefully, Oda will throw more focus on this in the story later down the line.
