The Wano arc of theOne Pieceseries will forever live in the hearts of fans because of the many significant things that occurred during the arc. From the fall of two Emperors to the discovery of the true nature of Luffy’s devil fruit to Momonosuke’s rise as Shogun of Wano, this arc portrayed many things in theOne Pieceseries.

While Luffy eventually came out on top, fans cannot forget the menace that was Kaido. Feared as the strongest creature in the world, this ogre with a 4,611,100,000 berries bounty proved to be nigh insurmountable as he stood as an unmoving tower to the Worst Generation of pirates.

7Effortlessly Defeating The Akazaya Nine

Wano’s Treasured Samurais

Before Luffy and Law entered an enmity with Kaido after taking down Kaido’s supplier, Doflamingo, the Akazaya Nine Samurai already had a bone to pick with the strongest creature in the world. Because of how Kaido took over Wano and killed Oden, their enmity with him had been ever burning.

However, after they finally got a chance to face the strongest creature in the world, they lost badly. Without using his man-beast form, Kaido trampled on themembers of the Akazaya Nine. He also sliced off one of Kikunojo’s arms while leaving all the Akazaya samurai on the brink of death. Meanwhile, Kaido did all this without breaking a sweat and barely taking damage. As he proclaimed, the Akazaya Nine were incapable of re-opening his old scar.

Zoro about to attack kaido

6Mildly Affected By Zoro’s Attack

Ashura Bakkei: Moja no Tawamure

Roronoa Zoro, the right hand of the future Pirate King,is certainly not an individual to be underestimated. This can be seen with his conqueror’s haki and his ability to withstand a joint attack from Kaido and Big Mom, two pirates worth over four billion berries each, even if for a second. With Luffy’s new bounty as an Emperor being three billion berries, this shows just how incredible Kaido and Big Mom are as individuals.

With his tenacity and strong will, Zoro has left many of his adversaries dead or on their last legs, but not Kaido. After deciding to give it his all, Zoro attacked Kaido with everything he had, even scarring him greatly, but the man-beast remained standing and unbeaten.

The Worst Generation

5Facing And Defeating The Worst Generation

Members Of The Worst Generation

The Worst Generation is a group of problem children who had bounties of over 100,000,000 berries beforethe Summit War of Marineford. Apart from Blackbeard, all other members of the Worst Generation coincidentally landed on the Sabaody Archipelago at the same time and were notorious for their many bold actions against the world government.

Five of those super rookies confronted two then Emperors of the sea, Kaido, and Big Mom, starting the epic clash between the Worst generation and the thenEmperors of the sea. Unfortunately for the Worst Generation, they stood no chance against Kaido. From Luffy to Zoro to Law to Kid and Killer, they all tasted defeat and helplessness at the hands of Kaido.

Yamato vs Kaido

4Overpowering Yamato Even After His Many Battles

Clash Of Father And Son

Yamato, the son of Kaidoand self-proclaimed Oden, is a powerful individual who many believe would have beaten the version of Gear Four Luffy that took down Doflamingo and faced Kaido in Kuri. As the son of Kaido, Yamato inherited her father’s ogre tenacity and developed herself through her many battles against him.

Despite being such a strong and outstanding individual with advanced conqueror’s haki, Yamato barely managed to stall Kaido and was on the losing end after Kaido defeated Luffy for the third time and the other members of the Worst Generation were injured or facing Big Mom. Even after fighting tenaciously for so long, Kaido showed no signs of weakening against Yamato and was even overpowering her.

Luffy defeated

3Defeated Luffy Four Different Times

A Defeated Luffy

So far, Luffy has undergone the most power-ups inthe Wano arcof theOne Pieceseries. This shows just how much Eichiro Oda needed to bolster him up for him to defeat Kaido. During Luffy and Kaido’s initial clash, Luffy was enraged as he thought the members of his crew had all been killed. Despite his rage, Luffy was defeated and knocked unconscious by a single attack of Kaido’s.

After Luffy’s initial defeat at Kaido’s hands, he went and mastered Ryuo, a form of haki that destroys its targets from within. However, he still got knocked out by Kaido. He then discovered how to imbue conquerors' haki into his attacks, but he got knocked out again. Thankfully, Luffy managed to awaken his devil fruit, which gave him a ridiculous amount of power, before he was able to give Kaido a run for his money.

Onigashima

2Carrying Onigashima Throughout His Battle During The Raid On Onigashima

Floating Onigashima

Right from when Kaido faced the Akazaya Nine to when Luffy finally defeated him, Kaido carried the island of Onigashima throughout the raid on Onigashima. This shows that even during his many intense battles against Luffy, the rest of the Worst Generation, and Yamato, a portion of his power and focus was split to carry and direct Onigashima to the flower capital.

Moreover, Kaido’s control over the carrying of the island did not begin to falter until he grew weaker and weaker during his many battles. However, even whenZoro slashed him and re-opened the scar Oden left, Kaido’s control didn’t falter. It was not until he was finally defeated that he was unable to carry the island anymore.

Luffy and Kaido

1Overpowering Gear 5 Luffy With His Haki

Haki Filled Headbutt

After Luffy awakened his devil fruit, everything changed. His fighting style became more carefree and ridiculous than ever, but the force behind each punch only grew stronger. Moreover, he was now able to turn his surroundings to rubber, turn into a giant, wield lightning, and even run on air. Despite the many bizarre abilities Luffy suddenly possessed, Kaido’s fighting spirit didn’t falter.

While many would get disoriented by Luffy’s many new bizarre abilities, not Kaido. He simply relied on his overwhelming haki and attacked. Despite Luffy’s newfound power, Kaido knew that only haki could take one to the top, and so, relying on his haki, he attacked Luffy until Luffy was drained of stamina. Unfortunately for Kaido, Luffy managed to get back into his Gear Five form and ultimately lost.
