Halois a rather old franchise at this point. The first game in the series released almost twenty years ago, and in that timeHalohas gone through several different changes - even having work on the series moved to a new development studio entirely. Though, one thing that has remained fairly consistent across everyHalogame is its music.

Since the release ofHalo: Combat Evolved, many fans have praisedHalo’s music as one of the most iconic and memorable aspects of the series. From swelling, orchestral battle themes to haunting, operatic menu music, the score on nearly everyHaloproject has further attributed to the amount of appreciation many have for the series. Now, one of the formerHalocomposers has given fans a small digital performance.

OnTikTokMartin O’Donnell, one of the originalHalocomposers, treated fans to a quick rendition of an iconicHalotheme on piano. Something many should find humorous is the sound of O’Donnell’s dog Baxter howling in the background along with the music. A lot of fans will consider this a welcome and heartwarming performance.

Along withCombat Evolved, O’Donnell also had his hand in composing the soundtracks forHalo 3, Halo 3: ODST,andHalo: Reach. He also produced music for the very first entry in theDestinyseries, though this went unused. While he may not have any direct involvement with the newer installments in theHaloseries, his influence and style can certainly be felt in the music featured with these later games.

In fact, in the latestdeveloper update regardingHalo Infinitediscussed a lot in terms of audio design and music. From what was shown in the update,Halo Infinitelooks to be quite atmospheric while still staying true to the tone of the original games. It will be interesting to see howInfinite’sOST holds up to previous entries in the series.

That being said, it’s difficult to know when exactly fans can expect a more substantial update in terms ofHalo Infinite. It has been over half a year since thegameplay reveal ofHalo Infinite, and there has yet to be any indication of when fans can expect to see the next batch following its delay. With the game set to release later this year, fans will just have to wait and see ifInfinitecan exceed the standards that other games in theHaloseries have set.
