Despite its shaky launch,Overwatch 2has received some positive feedback from fans on the changes and updates Blizzard has made to the game. Many players have reacted positively to the 5v5 switch, and the new voice lines have been receiving praise all over the internet. Blizzard added thousands of new voice lines toOverwatch 2, along with some other interesting hints and teases.

When the roadmap forOverwatch 2’s content drops was released, it had fans speculating on new heroes, new locations, and especially the PVE mode. With the free to play model comes the promise of more updates and new content, as expected of a live service game. Blizzard already has quite a bit planned for the game, and they’re keeping some things close to the chest. Still, there’s a few different easter eggs inOverwatch 2that hint at Blizzard being more sly than they are letting on.

6Lucio’s Home

Players can find Lucio’s mixing table in the back of Club Sinestia on the Paraiso map. In this area, there’s also instruments and a kitchen, as well as many of Lucio’s records on the wall. For Lucio mains, this easter egg is definitely something to check out.

Lucio is a fantastic support, boosting the speed of his allies and healing them all at the same time. He’s also difficult to hit, and has a great method for knocking enemies away from the objective, and sometimes even off the map entirely. Though fornew players, it may be challengingto get used to his versatile kit.

5World Of Warcraft Reference

Players in the Midtown map can find aWorld of Warcraftreference inside Grand Central Station. On the Hyperloop Line Departures timetable, there’s a list of destinations and times, including Blizz World. In the “Remarks” section next to Blizz World are the words “Deeprun Tram - Delay.”

Deeprun Tram is a reference to the underground line that runs between Stormwind City and Ironforge inWorld of Warcraft. It’s not surprising to seeWOWreferences inOverwatch 2, since it’s Blizzard’s largest franchise. It could be interesting to see more potential references to Blizzard’s other titles, like the Diablo series.

4New Map Hinted

Interestingly, on the Hyperloop timetable is the addition of a new location referred to as Atlantic Arcology. This location could be a human built civilization in the Atlantic Ocean, somewhere between Brazil and Italy. An underwater city would be a beautiful addition to the map rotation inOverwatch 2, and it’s possible that fans could see Atlantic Arcology drop in season 2.

This leaves room for more speculation on what other new maps fans could see next. Perhaps a journey to the frozen wastelands of the arctic, or maybe players will get the chance to push the payload through the Australian outback.

3Genji And Mercy’s Relationship

Overwatch 2’s announcement trailer “Zero Hour” includes various shots of items aboard the Drop Ship that belong to heroes in the game. A Pashimary Charm can be seen among Mercy’s belongings, which can only be obtained via a Pashimary claw machine in Hanamura, Genji’s hometown.

Players can view these claw machines on the Hanamura map, and the presence of the charm here further implies a relationship between Genji and Mercy, something fans have theorized for years. Genji can seem like a cold killer at times, which makes sense given he’s one of thebest DPS heroes in the game. It is nice to imagine this softer side of him that very few heroes, like Mercy, know he’s capable of.

2Voice Lines Referencing Game State

There are a lot of new voice lines inOverwatch 2, which was expected given the new hero additions and redesigns of old favorites. One of these lines occurswhen the new tank hero, Junker Queen, is on an all-female team, as she says, “Alright ladies, let’s teach these boys a lesson.”

Another interesting new voice line comes from Mercy, and plays when she’s on a team with heroes who all have ways to heal themselves. Mercy states, “Well, this should be easy,” which is a fair point, given she really shouldn’t have to work too hard if every hero can heal themselves properly.

1New Dialogue Between Heroes

Players can gather a lot about how each hero feels about the rest of the cast if they pay attention to the pre-game voice lines before the match starts. These quick conversations reveal a lot about personal relationships between the heroes, and there are plenty of new additions inOverwatch 2.

For instance, players can hear Ana roasting Widowmaker over Talon’s failed missions, only for Widowmaker to threaten to remove Ana’s remaining eye.Hilariously, Ana replies by sayingshe would still be the better shot between the two of them. This is just one example, and there are hundreds of other hero pairings and voice lines that fans can pick apart in game.
