My Friend Peppa Pigis a recently released game based on the popularchildren’s television seriesPeppa Pig. The British cartoon has been airing since 2004 and has maintained a sizable fanbase, withPeppa Pigmerchandise sold worldwide.Peppa Pighas been a massive success, and now it seems that theMy Friend Peppa Pigvideo game can add another feather to the franchise’s cap.
Comparing the Metacritic user scores for the PS4 versions ofMy Friend Peppa PigtoBattlefield 2042,Call of Duty: Vanguard, andGrand Theft Auto Trilogy, it seems thatMy Friend Peppa Pignot only has higher scores than all of them, but it has higher scores than all of themcombined.My Friend Peppa Pighas an 8.4 user rating at the time of this writing,Battlefield 2042is saddled with a low 2.1, whileCall of Duty: Vanguardhas a slightly higher 4.6.Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionhas the lowest score of them all, with an appalling 0.7 rating. Added together, the score forBattlefield 2042,Call of Duty: Vanguard, andGTA Trilogyis 7.4, a full point less thanMy Friend Peppa Pig.

Now, there are some things to keep in mind with this. While some may find it amusing that massive blockbuster games are losing out toMy Friend Peppa Pig, it doesn’t mean that the user review scores are necessarily serious. In fact, looking at theMy Friend Peppa Piguser reviews, it seems pretty clear that many people rating it so high did so as a joke.
There’s also likely a lot of user reviews for the other three games that were written by people who didn’t play them, but want to get in on lowering their scores. That’s not to say that there isn’t legitimate criticism forBattlefield 2042,Call of Duty: Vanguard, orGrand Theft Auto Trilogy. On the contrary,Grand Theft Auto Trilogyis in such a bad state that Rockstar Games had to apologize for it, whileBattlefield 2042has been flooded with negative user reviewsacross multiple platforms. But it’s still likely that the games received 0/10 ratings from people who didn’t actually play them, as that’s just the nature of user scores.
Regardless, it’s interesting to see such a negative backlash to three games that all once had decent hype behind them. There was a lot of hope forBattlefield 2042, only for it to come stumbling out of the gate, whileCall of Duty: Vanguardmay be the lowest-sellingCoDgamein over a decade.GTA Trilogy’s problems are well-documented, but hopefully Rockstar Games is able to get things turned around.
IfGTA Trilogyfixes its issues,Battlefield 2042addresses player feedback, andCall of Duty: Vanguarddraws in new players with more substantial content, it’s possible that they could one day get higher user score totals. For now,My Friend Peppa Pighas them all beat.
