Pizza Huthas announced the return of a classic 90s March Madness promotional tie-in for this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.Pizza Huthas been partnering with the NCAA to become March Madness' official pizza for many years now. Capitalizing on the attention requires increasingly creative efforts. For the 2023 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Pizza Hut has decided to combine a new pizza with classic 90s Pizza Hut nostalgia.

Kids who grew up in the 90s may recall in the back of their memory a miniature basketball featuring logos for theNCAA Men’s Basketball Tournamentand Pizza Hut. That’s because Pizza Hut ran multiple promotions during the 90s which included the giveaway of these small branded basketballs. The promotions began in 1990 and lasted for multiple years, each year offering a miniature basketball alongside the purchase of a pizza during March Madness. Some Pizza Hut fans would have a pile of miniature basketballs built up over the years.

Now Pizza Hut is bringing back its 90s miniature basketball promotion once more, but with a catch. For a limited time,Pizza Hut goerswill be able to purchase a miniature NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament basketball for $7 either through Pizza Hut’s website or app. Sadly, they’re not being offered as a free gift alongside the purchase of a pizza. The basketballs are red and black and feature the slogan No One Out Pizzas The Hut.

A basketball is nothing without a basketball hoop, though. In addition to selling miniature March Madness basketballs, Pizza Hut is also delivering a special promotional cardboard pizza box basketball hoop. This hoop is only available iffast food shopperspurchase Pizza Hut’s special Big New Yorker, however. Not every pizza box will be able to be turned into a basketball hoop. Still, for those going to the trouble of buying the basketball in the first place, a Big New Yorker is probably worth the full experience.

Both the miniature basketball and the Big New Yorker basketball hoop pizza boxes are said to be available now at participating locations. How long they’ll last isn’t clear, but March Madness is scheduled to start on March 12 and end on April 3. Hopefully, supplies last through the entire tournament.

While selling miniature basketballs isn’t really the same as giving them away, Pizza Hut’s promotion is still afun throwback to a well-liked 90s offer. If Pizza Hut had to do a marketing push for this year’s March Madness, at least it’s something fun that might get some kids up and active. The basketballs can be bought now onPizza Hut’s website and app.
