WhileMLB The Show 22continues to be heralded as one of the best sports games on the market, it doesn’t come without its share of problems. After three major updates and several minor fixes in between,MLB The Show 22still has some glaring issues that remain unresolved to this day.

One of the most notable bugs currently persisting in the game affects the Mini Seasons mode, a style of play where players can engage in quick, three-inning matches. AfterSan Diego Studio released the Game Update 3, Mini Seasons received some much-needed attention, but players are continuing to report their inability to advance past a few games.

Reddit user Ludy5 appears to have found a brand-new glitch in-game that turnsMLB The Show 22into an open-world game. While the focus in a baseball game is to score as many runs while preventing the opposition from doing the same, Ludy5 managed to break the game in a way where time stands still, and they are free to roam the field. The glitch appears to lock all assets in the game into a constant loop except for the user-controlled player, and the prompt to load the next cutscene leading into the play resuming is broken. It ranks up there among some ofMLB The Show 22’s more comical bugsto date, but it may grow old after occurring more than a handful of times.

While the video doesn’t give viewers an ending to the madness, it’s unclear whether players are required to restart the game or if the prompt to load the next cutscene eventually kicks in. The user runs around the field, continuing to roam around home plate, and even shows a few odd instances of the controlled player teleporting several inches ahead as they’re running. While it’s unknown what caused the glitch to occur, Ludy5 mentions that they noticed something was off when they threw the ball to the second baseman.San Diego announced incoming fixesearlier in the month, but it may need to schedule another round of fixes with new problems coming to light.

It isn’t out of the ordinary for a sports game to face bugs in the first month following its launch, as developers routinely have just one year to prepare a new game. As highlighted in manyMLB The Show 22reviews, the problems San Diego Studio is currently facing were expected, and it’s applaudable how quick of a turnaround each problem has been patched this month. Some glaring issues remain unresolved, but it will likely only be a matter of time before they’re weeded out entirely and the game becomes a more-fluid machine.

MLB The Show 22is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
