ThePokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlremakes were designed in very specific ways, so many fans could enjoy the Sinnoh region in the same way that they remember from sixteen years ago. This included things such as the National Dex, the Poketch feature, and others, along with theclassic Pokemon creatures first seen in Sinnoh. One fan decided to play the game with their favorite Sinnoh Pokemon, Cherrim, all the way to the very end.

Cherrim in particular has been a Pokemon that’s had quite a bit of buzz around it lately. Due to a glitch inPokemon Legends: Arceuswhere Cherrim couldn’t be caughtif it changed form mid-battle, many players have voiced a distaste for the creature, while also making memes about the situation. The glitch has since been fixed, and players have calmed down regarding the Blossom Pokemon.

However, Cherrim seems to be making a splash once again as one Cherrim superfan has beaten the entire main game ofPokemon Brilliant Diamondby only using the flower-based creature. The superfan, known as Cherrim98 or Super Monkey Cherrim, has shared their story to both YouTube and Reddit, with the video showing all the major battles the player went through, and the Reddit post breaking down what each battle was like.

In the comment section of their posts, Cherrim98 has answered further questions as to what the run was like, as Cherrim is a rather difficult Pokemon with a very limiting move pool. The moves used for the run were said to be Sunny Day, Dazzling Gleam, Solar Beam, and a mix-up of Leech Seed or Hyper Beam depending on what each battle called for in specific. Cherrim98 has also stated that the run has taken them two weeks, with a long break in between.

From what Cherrim98 has spoken about regarding their run, it’s very easy to see that the playthrough proved to be rather challenging, requiring plenty of thought and dedication to pull off. Despite the negativity Cherrim has gained for itselfinPokemon Legends: Arceus, plenty of fans of the creature have spoken up in the comments about being happy to see someone pull off such a feat with their favorite Pokemon in specific.

However, the reason Cherrim98 states as to why they decided to play throughBrilliant Diamondthis way was because the fan felt that the title would have been “super easy” otherwise. There are a fair deal ofPokemonfans that feel the same way in regard to how more recent games in the series have handled their difficulty curves, especially when it comes to how the EXP Share feature hasn’t been optional in recent years. These feelings make for a great case forPokemonto include difficulty settingsin the future, but it remains to be seen if they’ll ever be implemented.
