Reddit user Foxinajacket recently shared three fan art images, each focused on oneJohto starter Pokemonin theOkamiaesthetics. Cyndaquil looks straight out of the sixth console generation game, with the fire on its backside resembling fire from Amaterasu. As long-timeOkamifans may already know, the main character is Sun Goddess Amaterasu. While each of the three Pokemon has swirls added to their design, Totodile has wing-like appendages that look like they’d help the Water-type Pokemon navigate bodies of water. Chikorita has changed the most drastically in this fan art, with its body appearing furry and its eyes giving a sinister stare instead of its normally cheerful look.

Each Pokemon has face and body paint that resembles paint on variousOkamicharacters. Although Amaterasu isn’t the only face-painted character inOkami, the white wolf seemingly inspired thesePokemonGen 2 starter redesigns. While it’s unconfirmed, the fan art appears to have been done digitally despite the canvas resembling an old parchment. The images include katakana writing that spells out each Pokemon’s name, further encapsulating thehand-paintedOkamistyle.
