Summary

The various Ultra Beasts first introduced in the Gen 7Pokemontitles represent some of the weirdest Pokemon designs to date, and one fan of these mysterious interdimensional critters manages to recreate them as awesome LEGO Bionicle-inspired models in the real world. While thePokemonfranchise hasn’t introduced any new Ultra Beast designs for some years now, most of them are still obtainable in the most recent games, and they continue to hold a spot in the hearts of many fans.

First introduced in thePokemon Sun and Moongames, Ultra Beasts are widely considered to be one of the strangest divisions of creatures found in the world ofPokemon. Whileextraterrestrial Pokemon aren’t all that rarein thePokemonuniverse according to in-game lore as well as various Pokedex entries, Ultra Beasts take things a step further, with most or all of them presumably hailing from different planes of existence entirely. Many of them sport noticeably unusual and often outright creepy appearances, and there’s even some debate between fans as to whether they should even strictly be considered Pokemon at all.

The inherent uncanniness of the Ultra Beasts and their designs has driven many fans to make them the subjects ofcountless creative Pokemon projects. Even now, many years after their introduction to the franchise, one creative member of thePokemoncommunity known as Petersheikah shows off some incredibly detailed art pieces featuring the various unique Ultra Beasts. These awesome models are made entirely out of LEGO and are inspired by LEGO’s Bionicle designs. The models were designed and put together by various different fans, and represent multiple Ultra Beasts including Necrozma, Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Naganadel, Stakataka, and Blacephalon.

While Ultra Beasts haven’t had the spotlight in core-seriesPokemongames for years now, many fans argue that they played a big role in inspiring a popular new breed of Pokemon designs seen in the most recent generation.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paradox Pokemonmay not be alien in nature, but their mysterious nature and often aberrant designs have led many fans of the series to draw connections between them and the Ultra Beasts.

While the Ultra Beasts were greatly expanded on in theUltra Sun and Ultra Moongames, they’ve unfortunately had little to no presence in the subsequentPokemongames' stories, and have since only been obtainable in a limited capacity. While it seems they’ve been left in Gen 7 for the most part, only time will tell whether theseunique Pokemon will have the spotlightput on them again in the future.
