Its no secret that thePokemonfandom is artistically talented, with Charizard one of the most beloved of the franchise. From paintings, to jewelry, sculptures, and evena Charizard-themed Game Boy,Pokemonfans have utilized just about every medium to show their love for the Pokemon. However, while the vast majority ofPokemonfan art tends to show the monsters alive and well, one fan has answered the question of what a Charizard skull would look like.

Arguably the most recognizable Pokemon of all time behind Pikachu, Charizard is a first-generation dual-type Fire/Flying Pokemon evolving from Charmeleon, which itself evolves from Charmander. The iconic Pokemon’s first edition card is often considered to be the holy grail of thePokemon TCG, with one man even using$57,000 in COVID-19 funds to buy a Charizard card, to which he was sentenced to prison.

Posted onto aPokemonsubreddit, a user by the handle of iprintcoolthings shows off their impressive skull of a Charizard. While Charizard skulls aren’t something that’s been featured in games or the anime, the pseudo bones look absolutely convincing. Firstly, the dimensions of the skull appear to be spot on, with the curvature of the snout and jaw instantly recognizable as belonging to Charizard. However, the most convincing aspect of the creation is the weathering. Not only are there a few intentional cracks and scratches along its side, but the coloring in general looks almost identical to aging bone.

The Charizard skull is clearly a hit with otherPokemonfans, breaking the triple digit mark in likes within just a few hours of posting. While the skull clearly answers the question of what it would look like if Charizard were dead, another fan’s artwork has answered the question ofwhat Charizard would look like as a Fairy-type. The impressive rendition gives Charizard a purple-and-pink color scheme, in addition to softening the edges of its wings. The Fairy-type Charizard also features much more elongated horns, which would definitely be something interesting to see in skull form as well.

While thePokemonfan’s Charizard skull is certainly impressive, it isn’t the onlyPokemonskull-based art to make recent headlines. Another fan has created aPokemon-themed terrarium featuring a Cubone skull, another fan-favorite character. The fan creation shows the skull Cubone normally wears (the skull of its deceased Marowak mother) sitting atop a plant with the reverent title “Marowak’s final resting place.” While its unclear if the Cubone skull was created by the original poster like the Charizard skull above, both creations convey the passionPokemonfans have for the franchise.
