The nextPokemon GOevent has been announced. In celebration of the newPokemon Homecrossover, players will be able to take part in a special Meltan event from November 17 at 8:00 a.m. local time to November 23 at 10:00 p.m. local time. During this window,Pokemon GOtrainers will be able to get shiny Meltan, purchase new avatar items, and find other Pokemon in the wild.
Meltan can be acquired by activating a Mystery Box during this event period. This is done by trading a Pokemon to one of thePokemon, Let’s Gogames or by completing the one-time Meltan research. Once activated, the Mystery Box spawns Meltan around the player. During this event, there is a chance that one of these will be shiny, so players need to grab one before it goes away. It also takes 400 Meltan candy to evolve into Melmetal, so hopefully players cantrade a lot of Pokemon to spawn them.

In addition to the shiny Meltan, players will also find a change in wild Pokemon. Alolan Sandshrew, Zubat, Alolan Diglett, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Ditto, Porygon, Hoothoot, Remoraid, Whismur, Lileep, Anorith, Cottonee, and Foongus will all appear more often during this event. Alolan Vulpix, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Shinx, Timburr, and Klink will also be appearing in raids, whileCobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion will appear in five-star raids.
At the same time, 5 km eggs will see a change with Nidoran female, Nidoran male, Slowpoke, Omanyte, Kabuto, Lileep, and Anorith hatching. Slowpoke appears a lot during this event and, if players are lucky, theymay even encounter some shiny Slowpokes. Event-exclusive Field Research during this time can also reward Slowpoke encounters, so players will have plenty of opportunities to catch one.
There will be Event-exclusive Timed Research thatrewards players with Pidgeot Mega Energy, Poke Balls, Berries, and encounters with Slowpoke and Gible. Mega Pidgeot will receive a boost in CP for this event, so players will be able to make more use of their Pidgeots. Players that haven’t completed the Meltan research should take this chance to finish that up and get a guaranteed Meltan.
Finally, there will be newPokemon GOavatar items in the store. The Melmetal Jacket, the Melmetal Vest, Melmetal Shoes, and Grand Oak’s Glasses will be available for purchase. Players can still acquire Halloween costumes from the last event, so there are sure to be some fun combination outfits. Players have only a week to accomplish the tasks that appeal to them, so they should start as soon as possible.
