On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, aPokemontrainer named giaman shared the Clefable they used to defeat Sceptile using a team in a solo Tera Raid battle setting with AI-controlled teammates. According to their post, Clefable’s effort values (EVs) in physical defense and special attack were maximized, with four leftover points put into HP. Clefable was also given the ability Unaware, which makes its moves ignore any attack and speed start changes Sceptile would gain from using Dragon Dance.
Pokemon Fan Shows How to Solo Sceptile Tera Raid with Clefable
Knowing thatFairy-type Pokemonare considered a direct counter to Tera-Dragon bosses like Sceptile, giaman gave Clefable an Expert Belt to boost the power of Draining Kiss and Moonblast. Giaman’s Clefable also had Protect and Calm Mind to ward off the brunt of Sceptile’s Grass-type attacks. For the first three turns of thePokemon Scarlet and VioletTera Raid battle, giaman had Clefable use Draining Kiss. After Terastallizing and using another Draining Kiss on the fourth turn, giaman’s strategy stated that one use of Protect on turn five would prevent Sceptile from temporarily erasing Clefable’s Unaware ability. For the rest of the battle, giaman recommended mixing up Draining Kiss, Calm Mind, and Moonblast.
In response, somePokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers chimed in with alternate strategies, such as swapping out Protect in favor of Reflect to bolster their team’s defenses. Though Sceptile is the last ofthe Hoenn starter trioto become a Tera raid boss, only time will tell which Pokemon will step into the spotlight after.
