One fan favorite from the interconnected universe of animated films that heavily inspiredStar Wars: Ahsokahas now confirmed that he’s involved with the series, which recently debuted on Disney+.

TheStar Warsfranchise has amassed a number of well-received animated series that were all loosely interconnected along the timeline approved by the Disney-era custodians of the franchise. These series were all incredibly well-received and still have many fans seriously questioningif the animatedStar Warsseries are better than the live-action ones. While the collection of animated series includes more recent entries likeStar Wars: RebelsandThe Bad Batch, the longest and most consequential of these wasStar Wars: The Clone Wars, which ran for six seasons and gave a gripping and comprehensive retelling of the events in the eponymous time period, introducing characters, concepts, plotlines, and voice talent hat would become recurring parts of later shows.

More recently, fan-favoriteStar Warsvoice actor Sam Witwer has revealed that he’s involved in the live-action Ahsoka series that recently debuted on Disney+,beating the third season ofThe Mandalorianin a big waydespite being a spin-off from that show. In a recent livestream appearance reported on byComicbook, the star said, “I can’t really talk about stuff like that except that there’s a show that I watched and I really liked it. I don’t know what the rules are. Honestly, I was just about to say that I didn’t work onAhsokabut I did, so yeah I don’t think I can say anything but that I’m proud of Dave [Filoni].”

Witwer, who is best known for portraying the fan-favorite characterDarth Maul in his famous rivalry with Obi-Wan Kenobiacross the animated shows, has already been credited inAhsokaunder additional voices and did not clarify if this was the extent of his involvement with the live-action show or if a proper live-action appearance was in the works. The star has also similarly been on the shortlist for a role inThe Mandalorian, with Witwer revealing that he’d taken himself off of it (much to the chagrin of fans) to avoid putting Dave Filoni in an awkward position in the eventuality that he wasn’t the right fit.

Any chance to include Witwer, who has alsoworked on video games likeStar Wars: The Force UnleashedandDays Gone,is certainly one thatStar Warsfans will be happy to see taken, be it in a voice role or joining in on the live-action fun as a new or returning character. WithAhsokastill poised to deliver many more surprises and introduce many more characters to the world ofStar Wars,it might be harder to envision a world where Witwer’s stellar talent and fan appeal aren’t included in a more prominent role within the story at some point.
