Godfallis just one of the many exclusive games that is being developed for thePlayStation 5, but it already has many fans excited for it’s release. Sony’s State of Play gave gamers more insight into the game and what it may entail with an overview ofGodfall’scombat.
The looter-slasher game from Counterplay Games is set to launch during the holiday season this year, alongside the release of the new PlayStation 5.Godfallis a largely anticipated game that seems like it will be utilizing the new elements of thenext-gen console. With this latest peek into the game, players can get a better feel for it, and the five main combat styles they can utilize throughout the game.

Keith Lee, the Game Director at Counterplay Games, took fans through a glimpse of the game.Godfallis designed to be played at whatever pace the player feels comfortable, and the player can choose to traverse Aperion alone or use the online function to fight alongside up to two teammates.
The high fantasy world contains many intriguing features, such as knights, magic, and forbidden realms, and Aperion is split into sections representing the four elements. The fact that there areno microtransactions inGodfallwas also reiterated, saying that all the weapons and gears can be unlocked or earned throughout the progression of the game.
Players take on the role of a Valorian Knight who is able to equipValorplates, which can be put on and taken off to change the character’s class. These can be located throughout the game, and each Valorplate has its own unique history and characteristics. There are five classes that these Valorplates can give a player. Dual Blades gives players a pair of light weapons that can quickly combo opponents. The Longsword gives players a balanced weapon that can deal significant damage with a heavy Attack Finisher. The last three classes — Polearm, Two-handed War Hammer, and Two-handed Great Sword — were also mentioned, but there were no specifics given about their special attacks.
With third-person melee combat andRPG-style loot progression, the game takes the abilities of the player and augments them with powerful weapons and armor. In this way,Godfallaims to give players the satisfaction of their performance as well as a feeling of strength at vanquishing their foes. Players will have to wait a few months before they can try out the combat for themselves, but the large variety of combat mechanics gives them a lot to work with.
Godfallwill launch this holiday season for PC and PS5.
