Ubisoft has just released a 5-minute-long trailer that gives a more detailed look into the gameplay systems present inTom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction. Previously known asTom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine, Ubiosftchanged its name toExtractiondue to the original title being associated with the worldwide quarantine measures that were taken to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extractionis a spin-off ofRainbow Six Siege, with co-op gameplay for up to 3 players being its focal point. InExtraction, the location of the objectives and the placement of enemies will be procedurally generated, which will make every mission feel unique and dynamic. Last month, Ubisoft had announced thatRainbow Six Extractionwill be delayedfrom its initial release date of September 16, though fans have been given a new trailer to help kill the time.

According to the latest gameplay trailer, players will be able to choose from 18 different operators, each with their own unique abilities, playstyles, and customization options. Game director Patrik Méthé had previously confirmed that all of the operators will be taken fromRainbow Six Siege, andExtractionwill not feature any new operators. A large part of the trailer is then spent on briefly describing various gadgets and tools that can be used to gain a tactical advantage. Overall, there will be 25 different types of gadgets and over 65 custom-designed weapons.
Rainbow Six Extractionis set to launch with 12 “ever-evolving” maps, all at least three times bigger than those seen inSiege. The trailer also confirms that 13 mission types will be available in the game. Players can choose to extract after completing an objective, or risk it all by progressing to the next zone in the hopes of acquiring better rewards. The rest of the trailer discusses the seemingly deep progression system that allows players to fully customize their gameplay experience. The video ends with a confirmation of all of the free post-launch content that will be comingRainbow Six Extraction.
Rainbow Six Siegeis considered as one of the best tactical shootersof all time, so it makes sense to have a different game completely dedicated to co-op. All of the gadgets and tools described in the trailer look fun to use, and the deep gameplay mechanics should keep players engaged. The risk vs. reward structure of the game also sounds intriguing, and it seems like every mission will feel dynamic due to all of the different systems working together with the procedurally generated objectives and enemy placements.
