Meanwhile, one famous rapper who is unlikely to ever land such a video game marketing deal is Gunplay, not least because he recently received a triple charge over an altercation that started when his wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, asked him to quiet down whileplayingCall of Dutyon his Xbox console. Taking to Instagram, Taylor-Morales recalled that his yelling was scaring their 6-month-old daughter on the evening of August 19, which prompted her to ask him to quiet down. In response to that request, a heavily intoxicated Gunplay started throwing liquor bottles and cups at her, then picked up an AK-47 and pressed it against her chest while she was holding their child, TMZ Hip Hop reports, citing Miami PD documents containing Taylor-Morales’s account of the incident.
After she started screaming for help, her husband dropped the weapon, exited their apartment, and also began yelling for assistance, as per the same source. Taylor-Morales then seized the opportunity to stash the assault rifle in her luggage and flee with her daughter. She promptly reported the incident to the police, who arrested Gunplay on the charges of false imprisonment, child abuse, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The local authorities reportedly recovered the AK-47 that the rapper used to threaten his wife after she interrupted hisCall of Dutysession. Gunplay was subsequently released from the Miami-Dade Jail on bail and is currently under house arrest, Law and Crime reports, citing court records.
Taylor-Morales revealed that she already obtaineda temporary restraining orderagainst her husband and filed for divorce. “He will never get a chance to disrespect us again,” she wrote on social media, all the while thanking her followers for their messages of support.
This troubling incident marks the second high-profile arrest for a deadly weapon-related offense that Florida authorities made in August. Just several days ago, anAEW star was arrested on the charge of aggravated assault with a firearmin Orange County.
