Not long from now,Resident Evil Resistance, which isan online multiplayer modethat will come included inResident Evil 3remake, will be released worldwide. Although the main game has been covered extensively with trailers and gameplay videos, there are some elements aboutResident Evil Resistancethat are still unclear. Now, it appears that the upcoming 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game will contain microtransactions.

This information came from a YouTube video uploaded by user BlackFox2240 that showedResident Evil Resistance’sgameplay. The video revealed that loot boxes are available in the game, and can be purchased using in-game currency.

At the moment, it isn’t clear whether the in-game currency can be earned by just playing the game, or if it has to be purchased using real-world money, or both. Additionally, it appears that these loot boxes only contain cosmetic items such as skins, emotes, etc., but this remains to be seen. Unfortunately, Capcom still hasn’t confirmed whetherResident Evil Resistancewill include microtransactions, so players should take this information with a grain of salt.

Several weeks ago, Capcom revealedtwo new maps and two playable mastermindsforResident Evil Resistance. The new maps revealed will include a Casino and an Abandoned Park in the upcoming multiplayer game. According to Capcom, the Casino will be filled with slot machines and chips scattered all over the map, while the Abandoned Park will be horror-themed, and players can be tricked by fake park attractions and real enemies by the mastermind.

The new playable masterminds will include Oswell E. Spencer, who is the founder of the Umbrella Corporation, and Alex Wesker, who is the main antagonist inResident Evil Revelations 2. InResident Evil Resistance, Spencer is described to use the power of technology such as the Disintegration Field, which will damage players who walk through it. On the other hand, Alex Wesker likes to utilize various traps, that includes a carnivorous plant called Yateveo, to stop survivors. Both Masterminds will definitely introduce unique gameplay and a fun way to torment and bring hell toMartin Sandwich, and the other survivors.

Meanwhile, Capcom confirmed last week thatResident Evil 3will be gettinga playable demo soon. Unfortunately, the studio did not reveal what the demo will cover, but it is likely that it will follow the same format asResident Evil 2’s30-minute one-shot demo. Moreover, the specific release date of the demo is still shrouded in mystery, but given thatResident Evil 3is set to launch early next month, the demo could be released anytime.

Resident Evil 3andResident Evil Resistancewill launch on June 05, 2025, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
