It’s not too uncommon to see fans constantly asking about a sequel, hoping to essentially will it into existence. It seemingly worked withSkate 4, which is in development at a new EA studio called Full Circle, and that may have encouraged fans ofTitanfall. As many know,Titanfall 2is hailed as one of the best, most underrated shooters of its time, and fans have been wanting a sequel for quite a while.

This is despiteApex Legendsbeing set in theTitanfalluniverseand despite ongoing technical issues for theTitanfallgames. If nothing else, that speaks to the popularity of the franchise and its mechs, but anyone who is still clinging to hope might want to hang up their hats. It seems Respawn Entertainment is too busy forTitanfall 3.

According to community coordinator Jason Garza, there is nothing related toTitanfallcurrently in the works. He was asked for any comments onTitanfall, broadly, during a September 20 livestream. His response was pretty forward: “Don’t get your hopes up, man. I’ve said this before. We don’t have anything in the works. There’s nothing. There’s nothing there. We’ve got too many other games in the works right now.”

Indeed, it does seem that Respawn has a lot of games currently in development.Apex Legends, as always, is constantly getting support, while EA itself all butofficially confirmedStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2during an earnings call. There’s even talk of a smaller team out ofRespawn Entertainment working on a new IP, with no apparent room forTitanfall 3.

Now, some took this to mean that Respawn Entertainment wasn’t actively working on the known hacks and DDoS attacks happening with theTitanfallgames, but this isn’t what Garza meant. To the suggestion that it was “time to give up on Titanfall being fixed,” Garza responded in the comments, “Not what I meant. I was just talking the future of TF. We are still working on the current situation, but as always, can’t really telegraph those moves publicly.

In other words, it seems that fans can hopefully expect a fix forTitanfall’s ongoing technical issuesat some point in the future, but Titanfall 3in and of itself is off the table for now. It doesn’t mean that enough fan demand won’t see Respawn Entertainment put in the work on a proper sequel eventually—years after, of course, though that’s not too uncommon in the industry—but it’s not happening now and it may possibly not happen ever.
