Creature Labis an upcoming PC game from developer Image Power, one where players take on the role of a mad scientist seeking vengeance against the world. Years of research, publications, and groundbreaking discoveries go ignored, so players must establish a hideout, conduct terrifying experiments, mix mutagens and learn their properties, grow DNA-based body parts, expand the lab, and send sick creations into the world, to gather resources and cause mayhem. Plenty of games let players be the hero; in this one, they’re the villain. And Image Power has begun a new Kickstarter to allow even more players beyondPCto become a villain.
Image Power’s latest Kickstarter forCreature Labhas a primary goal of bringing the game toconsoles, including PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, as well as stretch goals including more localizations and potential expansions such as an original soundtrack, an NPC assistant in Igor, new limbs, new base monsters, and if the final stretch goal is met, tactical combat.

To bringCreature Labto consoles, Image Power’s Kickstarter is seeking $10,000 CAD (the equivalent of $7,341 USD). What’s most interesting is how quickly this Kickstarter is growing; sure, somemajor IPs with huge followings reach their backingin hours. Yet, for this small indie game working on its core idea alone, it has already reached 30% of its goal within the first 24 hours or so, accumulating a total of 115 backers. It would seem possible then, if this rate continued, that the goal would be easily met and some of the stretch goals too.

Creature Lab’s Kickstarter also comes with some rewards for those who pledge certain amounts. Pledging CA$7 or more results in a special thank you in the credit, CA$13 or more results in a special thank you and some wallpapers, and CA$20 or more includes all of that plus a Steam Key for the game. Higher pledges include further rewards like an Artbook, the ability to name an in-game substance, access to other games Image Power has worked on, and much, much more.
It’ll be interesting to see how this Kickstarter ends up, but it seemsthe simple, yet effective game ideahas seen the title blow up in the first 24 hours or so. Fingers crossed for Image Power that this popularity continues.
Creature Labis releasing on January 19 for PC. The Kickstarter must be funded by January 10.
