How to Find Megalodons in Sea of Thieves
Megalodons are arandom or chance encounterinSea of Thieves, meaning they spawn seemingly at random. Therefore, unlike activeSea of ThievesWorld Events, there is no guarantee one will show up, so anyone hoping to find a Megalodon may have to wait a while. However, for the best chances of one spawning, you’ll want to sail out toopen seaandavoid staying close to islands. Unlike sharks, Megs can’t swim near islands. Sailing to an island is an effective strategy if you’re trying to escape a pursuing Meg but generally won’t spawn or swim anywhere near them. However, one exception to that rule is Sea Forts, where Meg can sometimes spawn and swim pretty close by.
Community siteMerfolk’s Lullaby’s interactive Meg maphandily tracks Megalodon spawn locations inSea of Thieves, so you could try sailing around one of these areas to see if a Meg shows up. That said, given Meg’s spawn locations are random, there is still no guarantee of finding one.

If a Meg is near your ship, chances are you’ll probably hear it before you see it with thechange in music. Look out for a sinister, foreboding tune that appears out of nowhere, and check the surrounding waters of your ship. If there’s a Meg, it’ll soon poke its head out of the water for a massive roar and start circling you. You can try to outrun a Meg or attack it, but it will charge and ram if you antagonize it with firepower.

Is The Shrouded Ghost Real?
The Shrouded Ghost is an extremely rare white and light pink Meg inSea of Thieveswith a low spawn rate. As a result, whether it is real is a long-running joke within theSea of Thievescommunity, given many players who’ve played the game for years have never encountered one. Images, footage, and commendations connected to the Shrouded Ghost suggest it’s the real deal. While it was only possible to summonSea of Thieves' Shrouded Ghostin a previous Adventure, it’s purely down to a chance whether one will spawn, so you’ll have to wait and see if you’re lucky enough to see one.
