It can be hyperbolic to say that there are very few games likeThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, but there’s still a lot of truth to the statement.Skyrim, first released in November 2011 from Bethesda Game Studios, has become a global phenomenon and breaks sales records with every subsequent release of the title on different platforms, withSkyrimbeing regarded by many as one of the best video gamesof all time.
First announced in 2010 at the Spike Video Game Awards,Skyrimtakes place 200 years after the events of the previousElder Scrollsgame,Oblivion, and follows a player-made character known as Dovahkiin, the Dragonborn, a being charged with slaying dragons throughout the land. While that is stated as the basic premise,Game Director Todd Howardhas regularly stated thatSkyrim, like many of the titles developed Bethesda Game Studios, is meant to be a sandbox for the players to explore and forge their own stories.

Many players have done so with the game by forging many incredible memories, and even spawning a handful of iconic memes along the way withSkyrimplayers taking arrows to the knee. However, some situations that players have found themselves in tend to be a bit more awkward than expected.
In a post on Reddit’s r/Skyrim, user meganovaxxx displays that they have taken on the side-quest Hired Muscle, in which the Dragonborn must travel to Riften on behalf of Farkas to find a character named Mjoll the Lioness, rough them up and remind them of their duties. There’s just one problem, Mjoll is one of the many characters inSkyrimwhom the player can marry, and this player has made Mjoll their wife in this playthrough.
Despite this being an undoubtedly awkward moment for the player character, it can’t be understated how hilarious the chances of this happening are. The Hired Muscle quest can have the player hunting down a number of random characters of Farkas’ choosing, thus having it land on the player character’s current wife is quite the coincidence. This is not the first time some funny circumstances have befallen a player either, after another player inSkyrimhad a thief try to rob them while they were a werewolf.
Overall, this is another addition of funny moments that players have captured inSkyrimthus far, and it only stands to reason more players will find even funnier moments with their time in the game in the future. Perhaps onceThe Elder Scrolls 6finally releases, that game will offer a plethora of fun moments to keep players engaged as well.
