As is the case with much of the beautiful terrain inSkyrim, there is often something more to everyone that the Dragonborn meets. Nobody is perfect and many of the characters have pasts that are remarkably checkered. When meeting Anise, a lonely hermit, there isn’t anything immediately off about her.

What To Do With Anise
Because this is not a mission, players are free to leave Anise alone after finding her at her cabin. But is Anise worth investigating? Gamers should know the following information about Anise before rushing to any judgments.
The first thing to know is that players who steal anything or break into her cellar will cause Anise to attack, even if Anise didn’t see the theft or lockpicking happen.Sometimes glitches in the game can work out in the player’s favor, but this glitch, unfortunately, makes the decision for the player. So gamers have to know if what she is hiding is worth killing her over before deciding to peek around.

The big secret here, discovered if players break into her cellar, is that Anise is a witch and trying to start her own coven. Ordinarily, using magic shouldn’t cause the Dragonborn to be alarmed, there are many good magic users.
However, Anise has two major twists. First is that she’s got human remains and various clothing pieces in her basement. It’s unclear if Anise murdered these individuals or merely dug up their bodies, but either one is not good. next, she’s got a written letter to somebody named Helgi encouraging her to leave her loved ones and join her as a witch. The letter hasn’t been sent and encouragement isn’t a crime, but telling someone to leave the family life in exchange for a life of dead bodies and loneliness is not a great thing for Anise to do.
Anise is a caster but isn’t a threat on her own. She is easily dispatched by a follower with agreat follower mod. Whether or not she deserves to die is up to the player, just know that any snooping around at all will result in a fight to the death.
