Sons of the Forestplayers must learn to hunt, build, and cook to survive. Their time on the island isn’t easy due to the harsh environment and the mutant cannibals that live in the forest. Maintaining health must also be a priority to escape.
Health includes stamina, hunger, and thirst. Stamina can be restored by sleeping or drinking energy drinks, which also fulfills thirst. Hunger can only be refilled by eating berries, meat, manufactured food, or cannibals. If players eat cooked food, they can also restore some health if they don’t have meds. So, here’s how to cook food inSons of the Forest.

How to Cook Food in Sons of the Forest
Players will need a Cooking Pot, water, and ingredients to cook meals. Cooking Pots can be picked up from abandoned campsites around the map. Players can keep one on that at a time, so if they want more, they must have a home base to store them.
Once players have a Cooking Pot, they will need tofill it up with water. Water can be collected from lakes and ponds. Players must equip the Cooking Pot and approach a body of water until the interact icon appears.

Once the Cooking Pot has water, playersmust build a fireto cook with it. Fires are made by breaking two sticks and lighting them using the Emergency Pack Lighter. Players can drop meat straight onto the fire to give it a quick sear, but if they use the Cooking Pot, it will have better effects.
Follow the below steps to cook:
Players can only make meals with all the required ingredients, much likecrafting from the inventory. Ingredients include raw meat, mushrooms, berries, body parts, and more.
Hunting is the only way to get raw meat. Players can use ranged weapons or traps to catch deer, moose, birds, rabbits, and squirrels. Mushrooms and berries can be foraged in the forest. Of course, cannibalism is also an optionif players want to cut off limbs.
