The first part of the series opened, placing Dio – an undying character who was the mortal enemy of the Joestars as the main villain. Later on, the trans-generational series evolved from the Dio-Joestars conflict initially spiked by Hamon control, to the battle between Stands – the external manifestations of the user’s life energy. Among Stand users, the Joestars dominate the top. Here’s a list of every Jojo main character, ranked in terms of their strength and abilities.
8Jonathan Joestar – Hamon User
Jonathan Joestar is the first protagonist of theJojoseries;he was a selfless man constantly geared towards doing the right things. Raised with his malicious adopted brother, Dio, Jonathan still tried to go along with him without hating him. Even after Dio committed the heinous act of killing George Joestar, his father, Jonathan’s retributory actions were not lined with hatred or malice but with a justice-inclined affirmation that Dio must be eliminated.
Out of all theJojoprotagonists, Jonathan stands out in terms of nobility, inspiring even Speedwagon, a former thug. Another notable feature of Jonathan is his undisputable physical strength, exceeding any Joestar protagonist. Furthermore, his battle wits were impressive; he managed to defeat Dio, a vampire, using half-baked Hamon techniques he hadn’t fully mastered. Unfortunately, Jonathan ranks the lowest in terms of overall power since he wasn’t a Stand user.

7Joseph Joestar – Hamon & Hermit Purple
After Jonathan’s death, resulting from his self-sacrifice, his son, Joseph Joestar, took the Jojo stage. Still, in the same Jojo part, Jonathan Joestar was introduced with his incredible Hamon skill. Unlike his father, Joseph was properly trained in Hamon usage, allowing him to defeat Wamuu, one of the major secondary antagonists. Unlike any other Joestar, in battle, Joseph relies on cunning tricks and even dirty play, a stark difference from his noble-minded father.
Regardless, his crafty actions aided his escape from many near-death situations. InJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders,Joseph was shown to have manifested his own Stand,Hermit Purple, which turned out to be a weak Stand. Still, Joseph was the only character that could expertly use Hamon and a Stand.

6Josuke Higashitaka – Crazy Diamond
Josuke Higashitaka is the central protagonist ofJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable.Part 4 presented Higashitaka Josuke as the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar. Usually, Josuke is a calm kid who rarely blows up, except when his questionable hairstyle is the center of discussion. After Josuke’s somewhat quiet town is portrayed to be a nest for evil Stand Users, Josuke takes it on himself to rid the town of these villains.

Josuke’s stand“Crazy Diamond,“which debuted in Chapter 266 of the manga, possesses powerful physical strength, surpassing most Standsin the series. However, the Stand’s classic ability is not its immense strength or speed but its ability to restore objects and people back to their original state, like a reverse-time ability skill.
5Jolyne Cujoh – Stone Free
The central character of currently airing,JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Oceanis none other than Jolyne Cujoh, the daughter of Kujo Jotaro. As a child, Jolyne was constantly neglected by her father, Jotaro, who concentrated solely on his work. This factor spurred Jolyne into becoming a juvenile delinquent. However, she changed for the better until an accident involving Romeo, her date.
The whole situation escalates, and Jolyne is thrown into prison, where she manifests her Stand:Stone Free. Similar to Jotaro’s Stand,Stone Freeis a powerful and versatile stand that gives Jolyne a wide range of choices during battle. The Stand’s speed supersedes bullet movements, and its destructive power is unique even among Strength-based stands. In addition,Stone Free’sstrings offer a wide range of functions such as pickpocketing, eavesdropping, and entrapment.

4Josuke Higashitaka/Gappy – Soft & Wet
Josuke Hishagitaka, who shares a similar name with “Diamond is Unbreakable,” is the main protagonist ofJojolion. InJojolion, Josuke, the son of Josefunmi Kujo and Yoshikage Kira, is depicted as an amnesic, lacking any memories of his identity or past life. This makes the story interesting since Gappy’s past is shrouded in mystery, and he constantly tries to uncover the truth his memories hold.

Although Johnny Joestar isn’t as popular as otherJojoProtagonists, he is the main character of Steel Ball Run and a powerful Stand user. Johnny Joestar is the seventhJojoprotagonist in the series;he manifested his Stand, Tusk, during an SBR race to discover whether the Gryo’s Steel Balls could heal his legs. Johnny’sTuskis graded into four different acts. The higher the Act, the stronger.
TuskStand operates using Spinning Nails. Act 1 allows Johnny to use the Spinning Nails kike high-speed bullets and blades. However, the Stand becomes deadly in the Act 3 stage, creating a dimensional wormhole that disintegrates anything that enters it. In the Act 4 stage, Tusk’s ability peaks, allowing Johnny to move freely within a time-stop for up to four seconds.

In terms of offense-based attacks, Gold Experience wasn’t really an extraordinary Stand. However, this changed after Giorno jabbed the Stand with the unique arrow that births Stands, upgrading it toGold Experience Requiem.Gold Experience Requiemhas a frightening ability, which reverts any action back to zero. In other words, it tweaks reality.
