Summary
This article contains MAJOR spoilers for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leaguedidn’t launch to raving reviews and is largely considered a mediocre game, although its gameplay loop does seem to have a lot of potential if refined properly with the title’s live-service approach like other games before it have done. However, it is precisely those live-service elements that have given the game its bad reputation, possibly because there is a sense of fatigue for games that demand a lot of players' attention and time, and the fact thatSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leagueholds true to its premisedidn’t help. In fact, a major point of contention among players was that Task Force X does actually kill the Justice League, including Batman from theArkhamseries, but the game’s seasonal content may revert this.

Ahead ofSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s release, many DC fans were wondering if Rocksteady would really allow players to kill the Justice League, especially since Batman had been such a prominent figure in the company’s history. The fact that the Squad does eventually kill all Justice League members stirred quite a few controversies, be it because Batman’s demise wasn’t as monumental as his Rocksteady legacy or because the deaths of other Justice League members were not as significant. Still, things may change dramatically starting as soon as March, when Season 1 launches.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s first season is adding Jokeras a playable character, and each subsequent season will do the same with several DC characters, with the list seemingly entailing Victoria Fries in S2, Lawless in S3, and Deathstroke in S4. The seasonal approach is also likely reverting the main premise of the game, though, as there are four Justice League members that were killed and four seasons that have already been confirmed. On top of that, leaks have emerged with audio files from both The Flash and Green Lantern being alive after the main story’s events.

What follows is that each season of the first four may end up being about saving the Justice League, instead, completely subverting expectations after the main story is all about killing DC’s iconic heroes. The Justice League could be brought back with an easy explanation, too, asSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Brainiacdoes have a focus on DNA transformation and possibly cloning, meaning the original heroes are kept somewhere in the alien’s ship, and those who players killed were clones.
It’s worth noting that in the first encounter with The Flash, the hero is not brainwashed by Brainiac yet, and Boomerang accidentally cuts off his thumb. However, in every other scene post-brainwash, The Flash has both thumbs - this could be due to regeneration tech or prove the Justice League players kill is made of clones.

Why ‘Resurrecting’ The Justice League May Be Even More Controversial Than Killing It
Another option would be to have the Justice League members coming back in each season fromSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Elseworlds, meaning the original ones are indeed dead, but a new Justice League can be assembled. This would raise questions about their voices being the same as the original heroes', though, and the same would work in reverse. If, for example, the four superheroes killed inSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice Leaguewere from the game’s Elseworlds, it wouldn’t explain Batman being the same as the Arkhamverse, essentially confirming he is dead.
It may be hard for Rocksteady to pull this off when the premise of killing the Justice League caused so much fuss, and rolling this back could have even worse effects onSuicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s longevity as a live-service game. At the same time, it’s one of the most controversial aspects of the game right now, and walking back the decision to kill the Justice League may end up being beneficial if done right, especially with new characters being added with each season and thus amplifying the title’s banter potential.
