At the risk of stating the obvious,The Witcher 3: Wild Hunthas a ton of quests. Most of them aren’t very long, though. They mainly involve slaying enemies, resolving disputes, or obtaining items. Players can easily complete those tasks in less than an hour. Not all of them are so brief, however.
Certain quests inThe Witcher 3take a while. They may seem straightforward, but the plethora of twists and turns means they’re anything but. They may even span multiple regions. Their sheer breadth makes each one worthy of its own epic ballad. It also means the ensuing adventure is all the more memorable. By the end, fans are sad to conclude these colossal quests.

5Master Armorers
A Simple Search For Smithing Tools Sends Geralt On A Skellige Scavenger Hunt
Geralt encounters a means to makemastercrafted armorfairly early. A blacksmith in Velen offers to make high-quality gear in exchange for better tools. The tools in question are a legendary smithing set, which lies on the isle of Undvik in the Skellige region. Unfortunately, this quest is at a high level, so players will likely leave it on the back burner for a while. Not to mention, they can’t even get to Skellige until they secure a ship. That’s a separate quest in itself: finding the drunk captain and paying for passage. Once Geralt arrives in Skellige, the journey’s not over.
He must then sail to Undvik and find the tools. They’re in a ruined settlement at one of the isle’s highest points. Worse, an ice troll guards them. One would think slaying this beast spells the end of the ordeal, but no. It turns out that the blacksmith’s assistant, Yoana, is the real talent. She proposes a competition where Geralt poses as a target to test each smith’s breastplate. To get the necessary material for said breastplate, Yoana sends the Witcher after an archgriffin. At least he gets a snazzy set of witch hunter’s armor for his trouble. If players want elite witcher gear, though, they must go on a completely separate quest for the diagrams. It never ends.

4Fist Of Fury
Boxing Tournaments Unfold All Over The World
One of the pastimes to partake in is fist-fighting.Each region has several brutish brawlers to best. Defeating them in hand-to-hand combat has two benefits. Depending on how much he bets, it could net the Witcher some extra money. More importantly, it qualifies him for more formidable opponents. Moving up the ranks eventually makes him the world champion.
Obviously, he has a long journey to the top spot. First, he must challenge three fighters in Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige. They reside in the farthest corners of the maps. After that, each zone has a regional champion to knock off his perch. In Skellige’s case, that champion is a bear. These burly enemies can take a lot of abuse, but they’re even more difficult without weapons. That’s not all.

Toussaint also has a Fist of Fury branch. These DLC matches have unconventional rules, such as rhyming or parrying, lengthening the quest even further.Conquering all these pugilists truly calls for a fighter’s drive and determination.
3Open Sesame
To Prep For A Heist, Geralt Recruits A Scattered Batch Of Experts From Across Velen
Olgierd’s wishes inHearts of Stoneare a royal pain, but none more so than “Open Sesame.” He requests that the Witcher bring him Maximilian Borsodi’s house. Details are scarce, but the first step involves an Oxenfurt art auction. Geralt must attend this event and rub shoulders with the rich and shameless. Players could prolong the proceeding by truly engaging with these guys, such as playingGwentwith Robert Hilbert. Sadly, the whole fiasco turns into a waste of time as the Witcher is thrown out. To acquire the house,he now turns to a heist.
Teaming with a mysterious thief, he conspires to steal a model of Borsodi’s house from the treasure vault. Such an ambitious caper needs preparation, which starts a series of subquests. Geralt runs all over Velen to recruit conspirators and set things up. He hires a safecracker and an acrobat, each of whom has a problem to solve beforehand. Then, the Witcher eavesdrops on the guards to find out which ones will be on duty. Convincing the cook to spike their food is the last step.

The thieves finally execute the heist, but it doesn’t go smoothly. On the contrary, it turns into a family drama over inheritance. Geralt must pick a side and fight his way out. Only then can he give the house to Olgierd. It’s a meager prize for all that effort.
2In Ciri’s Footsteps
Tracking His Teleporting Daughter Is A Slow Process, Especially When Geralt Gets Bogged Down In Side Quests
The longest of the main quests, “In Ciri’s Footsteps” comprises Geralt’s hunt for his adopted daughter. The pursuit sees him follow every lead in the three major regions. It’s not as simple as asking, though.
Each case spawns a slew of smaller quests. In Velen, the Witcher must locate the local baron’s wife and daughter, the former of whom is enslaved by bog witches. In Novigrad, he must track down and eventually rescue Dandelion from prison. This calls for combatting witch hunters, tangling with gangsters, and putting on a play to attract a wayward doppler. Lastly, the Skellige storyline sees Geralt and Yennefer attend a banquet, follow strange portal phenomena, and perform necromancy.Piecing together Ciri’s journey is no easy task.
The overarching quest takes numerous hours on its own and can potentially last longer. The aforementioned subquests spawn side quests, such as helping Triss smuggle mages out of Novigrad. These exploits multiply the playtime exponentially. It’s no surprise that Ciri is always a step ahead.
1Collect ‘Em All
Getting Every Gwent Card Is An Epic Journey Longer Than The Whole Game
This quest falls into players’ laps at the beginning, and it can last until the end.Upon being introduced toGwent, Geralt makes it his mission to collect all the cards in every deck. Specifically, he needs one type of every card, meaning 120 of the little treasures. Granted, he can buy some from merchants, but that’s not the main method.
More often than not, he must win them. Beating innkeepers across the land can net plenty of unique cards, but the main characters also play the game. Most story-related figures have the option to challenge them. Even prickly personalities like Dijkstra are up for a friendly game. They’re not always available, though. Geralt can only interact with these guys at certain points, and he may not encounter them for several hours. In the meantime, he can focus on the most challenging collection missions.
The Witcher 3has a plethora of side quests devoted toGwent. Players might help Zoltan steal a few rare cards, or they could enter high-stakes tournaments in Novigrad or Toussaint. In short, this card game takes theWitcherworld by storm. The result is a tremendous time sink. Geralt must meticulously search the Continent for the most elusive cards. In the process, he takes on countless other quests. Only the most obsessedGwentfanatic can complete the collection.
