Amazon just released the highly-anticipated teaser trailer for its upcomingLord of the Ringsprequel series, and it’s quite possibly everything one could want from a really short trailer that doesn’t actually reveal much. Of course, that’s not to say it doesn’t show anything. Far from it, in fact.

The 60-second trailer is jam-packed with action, out-of-context drama, and really big sweeping shots of mountains. If that isn’tLord of the Ringsin its most pure form, then nothing is. Many fans openly and proudly claimed they were only tuning into the Super Bowl in order to catch this teaser.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerlooks absolutely gorgeous in the disconnected shots featured in the trailer. It opens with a hopeful young voice. “Haven’t you ever wondered what else is out there?” they say. “There’s wonders in this world beyond our wandering.” This is accompanied bysoaring views of landscapes, mountains, and a beautiful city. Finally, the camera lingers on a youth, presumably the one speaking, who smiles as the voice-over says “I can feel it.”

But don’t worry, it’s not all about the setting, even if they’ve clearly nailed that aspect. Close-up shots of several characters show off some of the action viewers can expect in the series, and it’s much more exciting thanthe character posters revealed earlier this month. A daring mountain climber holding on with just a knife, Ismael Cruz Córdova’s elf archer Arondir catching an arrow mid flight and swiftly redirecting it with his bow, and a bold cavalry’s charge led by an armored Morfydd Clark as Galadriel are just a few of the glimpses that are sure to get fans searching for their fainting couches.

Amazon has been keeping a pretty tight lid on information regardingThe Rings of Power, with therecent full look at several of the main charactersserving as an oasis for news-hungry fans. Now, they can finally see some of them in action, and that’s certainly one area where the series doesn’t look like it will be skimping.

There’s still a bit of a wait before the series finally premieres on Amazon Prime, but hopefully, this trailer will slake that thirst for at least a little bit. One can only rewatch the original trilogy so many times before the wait becomes unbearable. That’s including the extended editions.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerwill premiere September 2nd on Amazon Prime.
