Almost exactly two years after releasing the trailer for the first season ofThe Witcher, last week Netflix surprised the show’s fans with the full official preview for season two. However, amongst all the excitement many were left confused by the video’s odd music choice and one fan went the extra mile to make things feel more likeThe Witcher.

While it’s arguable Kanye West’s “Monster” might still be a proper song for a secondWitcherseason that’s bound to fill a bunch of new entries in Geralt’s bestiary, hip hop is definitely not the genre one would immediately associate with the franchise. Whether this is a presage of Jaskier’s future musical interests or not, this unofficial version oftheWitcherseason 2 trailerwill surely make a lot of people feel like they’re playingThe Witcher 3all over again.

The “fixed” trailer comes courtesy of one user who goes by the name v1talic on YouTube. They changed the backing track on the official trailer posted by Netflix to something a bit more befitting forGeralt of Rivia, “The Sword of Destiny.” The song is most commonly known asThe Witcher 3’smain theme and it was penned by composers Marcin Przybyłowicz and Percival Schuttenbach specifically for the game, which is probably why it changes the general vibes from the trailer so much.

The Witcher’s first season already left behind a real banger in “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher,” which became an incredibly popular song covered by many fans of the novels, games, and TV show. Again, considering all the newmonsters already teased inThe Witcher’sseason two, Kanye’s “Monster” is not that out of place. However, the swapped song admittedly brings Geralt closer to home.

“The Song of The White Wolf” was another of the most prominent songs from a first season that actually featured plenty of musical moments courtesy of Jaskier. While it’s not known how much screen time he’ll get this time around, his reunion with Geralt is definitely one of the highlights from the season 2 trailer. Funnily enough, music was not among the topicsaddressed byThe Witcher’s showrunner Lauren S. Hissrichduring a recent questions session over on Twitter.

Just by reading some of the YouTube comments for the trailer, it’s obvious many fans were left displeased with the song selection, so those folks will definitely enjoy this reworked version even more. On a different note, the large variety of monsters and promise of wider use of magic is probably one of the things that have most people excited about season two.

The Witcherseason two is coming to Netflix on August 09, 2025.
