Dragon Age: The Veilguardhas been announced to be releasing fall 2024. It has been ten years since the lastRPG title in the franchise, which was calledDragon Age: Inquisition, though even as it has been so many years, players are still unprepared for the fourth title of one of the most memorable BioWare franchises.
There is plenty for players to do while they wait for both the release date and the day thatThe Veilguardarrives. From playing the previous games ofDragon Age, as well as consuming any of the assorted media of the franchise, these are the things players should be doing beforeDragon Age: The Veilguardreleases.

Tevinter Nights And The Missing Set The Scene
Besides the various games released forDragon Age, there are plenty of other ways for players to prepare forDragon Age: The Veilguardthat include reading as well as gaming. In the 10 years since the last game, BioWare and its writers have created various comics and regular books for players to dig into.
A player doesn’t need to read every single book that has been released, but comics likeThe Missingare a great starting point as the comic itself leads directly into the events that are expected to be explored inThe Veilguard. Players will witness the adventures of thedwarf favorites, Varricand Harding, as they search for their old friend Solas. Alternatively,Tevinter Nightsis another great read as it focuses on the factions players will be a part of as well as setting the mood for the areas they will be exploring.

5Play All Three Games
Players Can Remind Themselves Of Past Events
With plenty of time until the Fall release ofDragon Age: The Veilguard, players have plenty of time to play all three previous titles, including their DLCs. While the original title ofDragon Age: Originsmay require a patch to run properly on PC, all three games can be enjoyed by anyone who owns Game Pass.
Playing through all three games of the franchise also allows players to make their own choices about how the story plays out, while also reminding them of what has happened previously and what makes each game unique from the other. Players aren’t required to play all three titles if they don’t wish to, howeverDragon Age: Inquisitionis a must as the inquisitor is expected to make an appearance once more.

4Dip Into The Codex Entries
The Codex Gives Even More World-Building Information
Besides verbal world-building through players experiencing various quests across all three games, players are likely to find an abundance of text within them too. These are known as codex entries and can give players further lore into the world ofDragon Age.
There is a lot to be read and players shouldn’t feel that it is necessary to read everything they could ever find. However, there aresome important entriesto consider that will prepare players for the experience they are likely to have inDragon Age: The Veilguard, especially involving ancient elves and the gods that used to rule over them.

3Keep An Eye On BioWare’s Twitter
Gameplay Previews, Screenshots, And More
Players shouldn’t solely be looking at Twitter while they wait for the release ofDragon Age: The Veilguard, though it’s still important to look into whatever news or information is released by the developers of the game. Players have already learned so much from what the start of the game will be like, the factions they can be a part of, and what subclasses they can expect to put points into.
All this information was given to players in a single month, with months left until the possible release of the fourth game in the franchise. BioWare is sure to give players even more information to help them prepare, as well as likely give players another glimpse into the world.

2Watch Dragon Age: Absolution
Taking Part In Tevinter, A Place Players Will Visit In-Game

WithDragon Age: Absolutionbeingset in Tevinter, it is also a great way for players to experience the next setting of the franchise before they are able to visit them for themselves during the game. Players can expect to visit many of these locations, or at least something similar in the future.

1Plan A World State On The Dragon Age Keep
A Simple Way To See A Player’s Choices
BioWare has announced thatDragon Age: The Veilguardwill not use the Dragon Age Keep to transfer the world state of the players' previous games. However, this doesn’t mean that the Dragon Age Keep is completely useless. Players are currently able to use it to transfer the data fromDragon Age: Origins, andDragon Age 2to use it forDragon Age: Inquisition.
Besides this, the Dragon Age Keep is also a great place for players toremember the choicesthey have made, as althoughThe Veilguardwon’t be using this online tool, players will answer various questions at the start of the game to define the world they will adventure in.
